if its more expensive at pc world cant u just do the price matching thing plus 10% for an even cheaper price?

i must say this is a nice product. rather buy this than a only photo frame costing around this much. voted hot

The idea of using this as a second monitor is what stops me voting this cold. That's an intriguing idea. I could imagine running all kinds of sidebar gadgets on this and on a space limited desk it would be great no doubt.

Claiming on the site that it was £139 is a bit of joke.

As a photo frame it seems over priced but I haven't seen the screen quality first hand so it might be a cracker. Worth remembering that £30 is an average price now for a 7"/8" frame.

I was also looking at this last night, however not many Comet stores in my area (London) have it in stock from what I could see.

Only thing puttign me off is that it is not a true 4:3 frame, which means it will crop the images. Ideally need a 800x600.

I've been thinking of the Sony DPF-D80 though.

I bought the 10" version of this from my Mother In law and the quality is superb, and yes the wide screen format is a bit of a problem, but one of the settings allows you to "fit to screen" which centers the image. 99% of most people photos, this wouldn't be a problem as most people centre their images anyway, but even if you don't, I noticed that some images actually benefited from the treatment giving a more dramatic image

I am picking mine up today, so I will report back

I am going to try the price matching when I go collect :-) I notice there are some in stock at Comet in Birmingham, and I am collecting from Coventry, so it is within the 30 mile radius.

Picked my device up, and yes they have price matched @ 49.99 - another 10% of the difference, thus I got it for 48.99

Just another thing, I know this might sound cheeky, but will I also get Quidco cash back does anyone know, as I did everything correctly via the quidco site?

By the way it is a beautiful product, very slim and lightweight

I do agree with what you say a little bit, but by the time you have added the extra memory card that you would normally have to buy to the usual High Res products without memory, they generally are around the £35 price bracket + £X.xx for your memory card. This works out as not such a bad price ....and like I have commented in my other posting, it is a beautiful slim product.

And I have just tested on my WinXP pro PC it works very well as a 2nd monitor (actually a 3rd on my office PC)

That's a fair point about the thickness. If this is slimmer than others that could be really important for some wanting to hang it on a wall.

The Jessops 8" model I bought recently has 2gb onboard memory and was a lot cheaper than this one but most frames come with just a few mb so its still a fair point that memory cards might need to be bought.

The plus points on this are mounting up.

Slimmer
Possibly higher quality screen than others in this price range
Can act as a second monitor (huge plus in my book!)
16:9 is either a positive or a negative depending on your preference for photo or video
Great brand name
enough onboard memory for most people

On second thoughts I'll vote this hot :santa:

If buying from Comet, don't forget the MVC5 voucher code, and Quidco.

Needed this as a present ASAP so I just picked it up from the store, it looks really good, slim-line and although this is the best offer available http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/567799/jessops-digital-lcd-10-4-hi-resolut it just does not look as good as this frame!

Yes it is widescreen, no remote, and does not function as a telly with sound, but it's a picture frame and that's what this product is

What was a joke was the guy in the shop tried selling me a memory card saying its really high capacity, it's the dog's balls.... and it's half-price with the frame, a 2gb fuji standard SD memory card that comes to £7.50 -what ********** yeah pull the other one, almost made me not want to buy anything
