It is unusual for the largest capacity drives to drop in price so quickly.
#5
yeah.. these were 180 at the cheapest about 2 or 3 months ago when i was looking for an upgrade
#6
It's great except the risk of losing 1TB of data in one fell swoop, assuming you're not rich enough for RAID.
#7
What are the best usb enclosures for these?
#8
When they drop below 100 i'll get a couple of these :-D

Then you best have six lives. Imagine how you would feel when you had drive crashes. Yikes.
#11
Awesome drives, but like the posts above i will wait they they are cheaper.
#12
I think if these hit sub £100 I'll RAID them up for some massive storage space. =D

It seems to be happenning all over the storage market at the moment. I feel sory for the people that buy pendrives from play.com..... :whistling:

Not sure about you guys, but it would take me a good couple of months to fill up 1TB...would make more sense (as least for me, as i have some free hard drive slots) to buy a smaller drive, then another when i need it, by which time they will have dropped in price even further...?

I take it you've seen this thread!:whistling:

I'd love a couple of tese but as said above, the prospect of losing 1TB of stuff scares me to death! Don't say back up... I know... But I'm idle and skint!:p

I'd love one but I bought 2 x 750gb samsungs last week:( I'll save up and buy 2 of these when they hint the 100 quid mark. Plus I'll wait and see how many reviews have their drives fail and see if they have any probs before I buy. I'm sure I read somewhere that the platters on 1TB are different to the 750gb spinpoints and samsung were having trouble with them. I might be wrong and someone might be able to put me right on this? Cheers for posting voted hot:)

Yes, it is, but traffic shaping is only between 4pm and 9pm. I actually worked out it's poss to download about 180GB per day even with the traffic shaping as long as it's going full pelt 24/7.

Care to qualify that? He's actually correct, total possible being 186.35 GB.
