For those still asking why their previous Ebuyer deal was removed...

When submitting a deal prior to 20th May, the Ebuyer entry would have come up as "Ebuyer (Banned due to self promotion)". If that wasn't enough of a hint to you **at the time** to not post the deal for that company then I'm not sure what would have been.

Deals from Ebuyer are now allowed. Mike-T is a moderator here so that should be more than enough proof for you that deals from said company are now ok.

I'll report you to a moderator for posting an eBuyer deal. :w00t:
#5
2 of these added to the 2 i already have. THE best hdd ever imo.
#6
Ace Price, I already have 3 of these. I'd buy another if i had the room.
#7
HOT! Bought one week ago for 63 from Scan, excellent hard drive.

Got 2 of these now, if i buy another, ill have to buy a new pc case to accomodate it. Seriously hot deal, monday night they had around 900 of these. Last night/early today morning they all finished and ebuyer started selling these on pre order. Then around 3pm today they changed from pre order to instock, and from around 450 in stock, its now down to 377. Mov ing very fast. Voted HOT HOT HOT

Btw, they are £59.99, not 59.63. The price on this has changed a few times now, from 59.99 to 60.00 to 59.63 and then back up to 59.99.

And this should be expired, its still there at that price and in stock.

These are PERFECT NAS Raid 5 material... i'm tempted to order 4 now. HOT!

Oh come on. A mod posting a deal as soon as ebuyer is back. Poor show.

Why when I click on More: Ebuyer deals, 99.9% of the deals visible are practically 1 year old ?

P.S. Have also queried this in the Ebuyer thread.

OK, now sorted by emmjk42:)
#13
why expired, these drives seem to be gettin cheaper all the time, hot!
#14
Hrm it seems that most places are selling these at this price lately. I'll wait.
#15
Personally would pay a litle extra for a better quality seagate one.

However depends if the data is crucial or not. But looking at the reviews - not only on ebuyer but everywhere else aswell, I would run it for about a week or so and test it to make sure 'tis working properly.

Otherwise a good price for a 1TB harddisk at around the £60 mark, scan also had this at a similar price.

Yeah, tried posting this yesterday and it was removed.:?

Yeah, I went for 5 of the 1TB Hitachi drives a while back as they were cheaper at the time (although those drives are also incredibly quiet and energy efficient).
Wish I'd waited now =(
#18
Nnnoooooo !! I ordered 6 of these last night at £60 each. If only I'd waited another day, I'd have saved 6p lol !! :w00t:

In the past I would have agreed with you about Seagate ... but now, they aint so good. Their 1TB & 1.5TB drives have serious issues - personally I wouldnt touch one.

Likewise and received two terse PMs from Mods warning me not to do it again. Now suddenly it's back on without a word. :x

This is the mod that deleted my post of this yesterday <_<. Conspiracy going on here.

The only brand I have had no problems with is Maxtor.

Certainly won't be buying WD, Seagate or Samsung ever again, as I've had too many failures.

Seagate make Maxtor drives.

But on the maxtor note this may interest you. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/405363/maxtor-1-5tb-external-hard-drive-us

What is wrong with posting a deal from Ebuyer?
#25
Good to see Ebuyer back on HDUK. About time! Hopefully means less Cdiscount deals getting posted.........;-)

What's wrong with posting ebuyer bargains ?

Or is it that ebuyer wont pay Hotdeals affiliate commission ?

I have one of these drives bound on to bungee cord in a Antec case, well ventilated
Very happy with it indeed

Exactly.
It seems it was banned until today.

Got the same PM twice from mods: One of them was MikeT (the OP of this thread)
Please note that any further posts for this retailer would be classed as a Forum rule breach & would result in an infraction being issued.

I think some explanation as to the sudden U-Turn would be considerate.

Just to show there's no sour grapes have voted hot for the deal. Wish I could afford to get one myself, but well and truly broke at the mo.

I hope this doesn't get taken down again like yesterday - people should be made aware of this fantastic deal!

Ah no way. I want to replace my Seagate's. Barricuda 10's I think they are. They run so hot, far hotter than the Samsung.

My Seagates idle at around 45+C, whereas my Samsung is down at 32C. Even my Maxtor runs cooler.

Good deal, am tempted too. Already got 2.5Tb though, so not sure. Argh.
#33
I already have 2TB on one pc. Would be an ideal drive for an external encloser.

Why are ebuyer threads not allowed on here?

Is this a site paid for by the advertisers of deals?

Or is it because Ebuyer are a nightmare to deal with?
(I know from past history)

It's been going on for the past month really, & there have been many words since, with the latest from mod emmajk42 (post #165) this afternoon being:
[B]Ok, we've had assurance from Ebuyer that this won't be happening again and that they've taken tangible steps to ensure that - so we've now taken the ban off and Ebuyer offers can be posted again.

I bought one of these drives when they were aroun the £80 mark. Well worth the price now as these are excellent drives.

Was going to post this yesterday (like most of you) but ebuyer was banned from HUKD.
#36
it tempted me, I am waiting delivery.
#37
I understand what was going on now.

You never see microdirect, eclipsecomputers or stak on here.
Why - because they are scumbags.

Had dealings with all 3 and won a court case with eclipsecomputers - they never turned up.
All rude and arrogant *************.

Seagate is crap when compared to Samsung F1 :-D
