Yeah it's not the most elegant solution to taking your picture with your mates or self-portraits - swivel screens were a bit naff, too, though.

Cheap, decent camera.hot.I bought Es20 for my Mum a while ago (that was dirty cheap), impressed with pictures taken in good light conditions

@ AJAYMP.
That's not the most useful comment. If it didn't work, you could have sent it back and got your money back. One assumes that either a fault developed after a year, you sourced it from a grey importer, or you don't know your consumer rights. There is no manufacturer who has absolute 100% perfect production run.
"I had a bad Samusung once" does not equal "All Samsungs are bad".

According to Which?, Samsung reliability is on a par with the rest of the camera makers.

Samsung Optio-Electric was merged with Samsung a couple of years back.

Since then, Samsung have been gunning for some premium niches, and not doing too bad a job it.
I have had a reliable cheap Samsung camera (pre-merger) take a lot of abuse, and it featured manual controls unlike many of its rivals. But then "My Samsung is fanstastic" does not equal "all Samsungs are fantastic".

This particular camera is also called the Saumsung TL105, if this helps find reviews for it.

Based on my current experience waiting for a camera from Amazon (9 days so far after paying for first class delivery) I'd leave it if it's for Christmas. They'll be cheaper for Christmas 2011!

Samsung are OK but I've found the control menus unnecessarily complicated and not very intuitive. Possibly improved on later ones. I think you can probably do better for 70 quid though.

Thanks but what would you suggest would be better for £70?

Just follow HUKD for the better deals that come along. There was a very good little Panasonic on here a day or two back for about this price. If it's not for Christmas they'll all be trying to clear their 2010 stocks soon after to make way for the 2011 stuff - always a good time to buy.

Added:

Here it is and 10 quid cheaper! - also Amazon though so depends whether the issue is shipping time or the camera itself.

If you want slow mo video i believe the Casios are the only ones to offer it

thanks yeah seen them looking to get the ZR10 but the slow mo VGA ( 640x480) option has been dropped & is longer available only the titchier QVGA @ either 240fps or 480fps.On the plus side the ZR10 supports H.264 straight out of the box for easy youtube upload..might just get the FC150 which unfortunately does just AVI but defo offers slowmo 120fps @ VGA quality
thanks again

..also do you know if casio cameras can be hacked up like can be done on canon's using CHDK
#17
Not sure i don't think they can, im interested in the ZR10 as well but waiting for the price to drop as its £250 at the moment
#18
ok thanks..one final Q? ..do you know if you'd have to convert an AVI from the FC150 prior to uploading to youtube or is conversion done on the fly, I've never put a vid on youtube you see!
Finally do you know any shop that actually has the ZR10 or FC150 instore to play with ..jessops don't :(
thanks
