I don't think so. It's a shame... if I could get it unlocked then I may have considered buying one...
#5
nice phone, but would also want it unlocked. good deal though.
#6
Were Vodafone not offering free unlocks on all their phones - or was that just contract?
#7
This phone is £79.99 on Additions website, £30 of £60 spend, first time customers only, using code ZG430, so £49.99, plus 9% cashback, delivery is around £4. Phone is on vodafone and they will unlock it for free, tell them you are going on holiday and want to put a european roaming sim in, for cheaper calls.
Forgot to mention code may not work on website, but if you ring them they will deduct £30 from the bill.

JUST CHECKED PHONE IS £64.00 IN THE SALE, BOUGHT MINE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.

Clearly you impressed them by having it for longer than they have been made for! :w00t: :-D

ZG754 voucher works - but wont combine with the free postage one as shown. Its a "first time" voucher - so if you use it ensure you fulfill the criteria.

If your quidco tracks you are looking at it costing £34

Call Vodafone - they will probably do it free.

WARNING!!!

From the reviews - it appears it does not have a flash for the camera despite including it in the spec.

I bought this the last time it was on hotdeals.
Yes it can be unlocked.. very easily. Dont know how easy it is to get vodaphone to unlock for free but I
paid someone £10 to do it on ebay.
You find your IMEI code by pressing * # 06 # .
Then mail this code to the person you are paying to unlock.
In return you get a number sent back to you ( about 8 or 10 digits long from what I remember)
When you turn the phone on with a different network sim it will ask you to put this number into the phone and thats it ! Unlocked

I suspect these guys are calling vodaphone on your behalf or are (insider) people who have access to the database ;-)

Just got one of these as an upgrade on my contract...very nice phone!
#18
is this a rival to the 6500c ?
#19
Just ordered myself one, have been looking at this one for a while now, but then the price jumped up again from last time it was offered at 59.99.... and not a problem about unloicking for me as I'll just put my ASDA sim card in it anyway (vodafone is their carrier of choice for now) and will just phone voda for an unlock code when/if I need one. Pretty sure they'll do it for a price anyway of approx £10 or maybe less.
#20
this will be three compatible as its HSDPA

I don't think ZG754 is working any more

Got one of this from Littlewoods Direct, got it delivered few minutes back! Looks charming! :-D Used £30 off code and got it for £36.58! Cheers!
#23
I went for a Sony Ericsson W580i from Littlewoods using the £30 off voucher and 8% off with Quidco. It should work out at about £38 which is a bargain.
#24
Be careful with those catalogue offers. You could get the £30 charged back later. I was going to go for it but the terms of the £30 off £60 spend put me off.

I dare say they'd have a hard time proving that you shouldn't get a promotional benefit.

If they charged you unfairly you could do a credit card chargeback.
#26
What courier do these catalogue companies use? Whats the camera like, especially in the dark?
#27
Just received mine... one day after posting through royal mail so I'm happy. One thing that puzzles me though is why would they send something like this without you needing to sign for it on delivery - I'd be pretty annoyed if I had to wait 6 weeks or whatever if it didn't turn up before I could claim off the royal mail for lost items.
#28
^^^ I guess you mean play.com. They always do it to save on postage.
#29
yep, I did mean play.com

Have been ordering stuff from them for approx 5 years or so now and have to say that the postage is very erratic, have had some items that were only £10-£20 that I've had to sign for... and other times like this I've had stuff worth £60 and beyond that I've had left on my doorstep where anyone could have taken them... weird??

[edit]
Actually just looked at my account and have been with them for almost 9 years and have had stuff sent that I had to sign for only worth £4.99?????
#30
Received phone yesterday and what a lovely phone it is, well recommended.
#31
Ok, had mine for a week now...

Took 2-3 hours is all to charge fully, and have only just had to recharge it again after 1 whole week... and that's with using the camera, making a few phone calls and listening to MP3s, plus changing settings and everything too... so not too bad on battery life, but doesn't live up to the claims though.
I tried it with a few different microSD cards, tried a kingston 1gb and that was quick to load from switching the phone on etc, tried a sandisk 2gb and that was about the same as the kingston... and have now got an 8gb play.com card in it, that took ages to load after switching on and hoping that's the only time it is slow, if not then it's going back to play.com for a refund...
Overall though, this phone is brilliant, pictures are pretty clear with camera.. though if you're wanting to look at the actual size pictures from this on your PC then you will see some of them being a bit grainy in the background and maybe a bit of blur on the subject if they move whilst you're taking their picture... mostly down to the camera shutter speed I suspect. Perfectly fine for nights out, and for when you haven't got your digital SLR to hand.... not quite sure how it works but even when you're going to take a pic and think it's gonna be too dark to see, the picture after being taken still comes out lighter and able to make out details.. weird!!
Plays MP3s/WMAs very well even through the speaker... but better through the headphones (supplied), but the headphones earpieces are very big and don't fit in my ears... and that is the first time EVER that has happened.... I will most likely invest in some stereo bluetooth headphones instead.
Phone interface/OS is nice and relatively easy to use, but better with a bit of tweaking involved to get things just right.
I am very pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a mid-budget phone with lots of features.
