Available in store now @ PC World for £189.97.

Surprisingly cheaper than ebuyer (£260) dabs (£212) and amazon (£200).

Please dont pay attention to the specs on the PC World site or ticket in store. This monitor is 700:1, not 400:1 as stated on the site (or even 4000:1 as the goon in the shop said!) HDTV Ready DVI input with HDCP support, watching the Transformers trailer in 1080p last night nearly blew me away!

Better specs here: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=25327872023&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3NwZWNpZmljYXRpb25z&product_uid=114798

Hope you like my first up, I think this is well worth a look, and you dont even have to wait for delivery!

Be quick coz I think these are a limited stock!

*** Ok although I downloaded the 1080p version ive been informed it would have been downscaled to fit the resolution. Max resolution on this monitor is 1680 x 1050.
Apologies to you guys - and a special sorry to GARY_RIP for any distress caused.

Apology accepted!

Welcome to HUKD dEvILSiXpEnCe !!

EDIT: Its only showing collection in store for me, so not sure what the availability is going to be like....

Just noticed its a Currys web exclusive @ £260 but they are out of stock - lol!

The guy in PC World say the 97p shows its a limited offer so yes stock will be limited. I dont think its clearance as this is still a current Samsung product. Perhaps they have had a job lot in and are gonna stop stocking that particular model in stores.

Mine was BNIB and the PC World at Team Valley in Gateshead had more in stock, as does the PCW's in the surrounding area.

After missing out on that HP 20" the other day, I wasnt gonna let this one elude me!

I bought this for£200 from PC World recently, and recommend it.

It's a vast improvement on my previous Digimate monitor.

So good in fact that I posted twice

watching the Transformers trailer in 1080p last night

Impossible as this monitor doesn't support 1080p so it would of been downscaled! Please check you facts before making ridiculous statements!

Ok you are right, just checked and 1080p = 1920 x 1080 and max res on this monitor is 1680 x 1050 - I stand corrected.

Well the FACT is I downloaded the the 1080p version and watched it.
Chill man you dont need to be quite so fookin harsh eh!?!
I'll edit the thread if I can - didnt mean to knowingly mislead.

Heres another monitor that you can "download and watch" 1080p on...

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/119326/rb/25329921793

Its a lot cheaper too!

HDTV resolutions are confusing enough, but jumping up and down on someone because they made a genuine mistake is a bit childish Gary, manners cost nothing, but i guess you can't afford them or maybe you lost them while making your 2000 odd posts.

newbie bashing isn't cool.. I'm sure you made mistakes once upon atime...
#14
I'd prefer to fork out the extra cash to be able to enjoy my pc viewing on a bigger screen. Therefore I'll stay clear of the 15 inch model. Looks a cracking deal HD ready too.

Nice first spot

Jumping up and down on someone as they know what they are talking about (thanks google) is a bit childish.

I wasn't horrible, it wasn't nasty, and please didn't fit the sentence, i did accept his apology tho

I lost them a long time ago... as soon as my RSS started filling up with crappy "deals".

I still make mistakes, but when someone corrects me i laugh and enjoy the banter.

In function my only hunch is possibly the HDCP compatibility. Couldnt see it on any specs for the 204, only for the 205 but I realise this isnt conclusive.

There is no 204BW on the Samsung UK site so I wonder if this is an overseas model which is essentially the same as the UK 205, its just certain sites (ie ebuyer) have completley different info in the specs.
#28
Great post mate, I have just pointed someone to a 19" Samsung Syncmaster with HDCP. Samsung monitors are absolutely fantastic, the colours are so vibrant. They really are worth purchasing over the cheaper models like Acer and such. And yes I have had both an Acer and the Syncmaster range so I am talking from real hands on experience.

If you are in the market for a monitor then I would go for this one if you can find one.

Oh and to the above post, from the looks of it the only difference between the two monitors is this one is HDCP ready which means that if Sky or on fact any other HD channels ever scramble their HD content then this monitor can descramble it. So basically it's future proof if you want to watch tv on your monitor.
#29
are these good with a xbox 360 and can u watch tv on it?
its future proof do u think it could handle a ps3?
#30
It can handle anything, obviously with it being a 19" the res will no hit 1080p. Yes you can watch tv on it but only if you insert a tv tuner into your PC.
#31
SO ITS A GOOd buy and a tv tuner is cheap isnt it?
#32
Yes it is mate. Can pick a decent digital tuner up for less than £30 with remote control.

Any recommendations?
#34
so do i still have to connect to my pc to watch the tv?
#35
How about this one.... http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=331034
First time I've had monitor envy... :p
22"er.....
#36
is this hd ready and tv watchable?
#37
Yes it is hd ready but it does not have a built in tuner, you will have to connect it to your PC to watch tv/films.
#38
ah ryt das cool thanks!
