Did a quick search a few sites seem to be doing it at that sort of price

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=2253bw&scoring=p

I have not verified all the sellers are reliable, but one is HP-sales.co.uk which I assume can be trusted.

There are a few companies doinhg similar prices but when delivery etc is added this is a good deal. Plus I'd prefer to buy from a company we know, so buying from Play.com at this price is a no brainer if you are after something like this....Already ordered mine

I read the same myself, this is only the case for the first few batches. Recent reviews for this monitor are all raving about it

Thanks

For anyone in West Yorkshire that doesn't want to wait, you can pick one up at CCL for £139.84. They have lots of stock. Or £7.99 delivery.

Zootaga, please change price back to £149.99 as some people won't be able to get the voucher, & some choose not to use Quidco.

Also, please put 'Pre-Order' in the title.

Can't expect too much from a TN panel, even a quality one. Most reviews also say it's a minor thing. The majority of users won't be able to tell in normal, everyday use anyway :). If you need a 22" TFT you can't get much better quality for ~£140 (counting voucher & Quidco).

It's complicated to get the voucher - RAC members can get a 5% voucher from http://racsmiles.co.uk/index.php?id=32.

Thanks to OP, just ordered.

Does anyone know if it has a gloss coated screen, gotta have that gloss for crystal shiny gaming :D

edit: Yah it's a non gloss, but still very tempting at that price!

PC World Business are selling this monitor. Does anyone know if they will do their price promise (+10% cheaper) and sell to non business customers?

Most of the cheap (i.e. not 2*5T/XL**) samsungs don't, which means with a 16:9 source it'll either be stretched vertically or increased in size and the edges chopped off so it wouldn't be perfect for TV (the viewing angles won't be great either, but at 24" I guess you won't be having several people watching it)

This deal looks awsome to me! Could I play an xbox 360 through this monitor? If so through what connection and would it be stretched?
Thanks

You should be able to connect the Xbox 360 console to the monitor via the Xbox 360 VGA cable to the VGA port on the back of the monitor. This will leave only a DVI connector on the back of the monitor if you want to connect this to a PC as well. To change which device is connected to the monitor at any one time you just need to use the 'SOURCE' button.

As to what modes are offered by the VGA cable, these are:

640x480 (4:3)
848x480 (16:9 approx)
1024x768 (4:3)
1280x720 (16:9)
1280x768 (16:10 approx)
1280x1024 (5:4)
1360x768 (16:9 approx)

Note that the monitor is 1680x1050 and hence in the 16:10 aspect ratio. Therefore I can only conclude that the ideal resolution to use for the Xbox 360 is 1280x768.

Other modes may work but the screen may look stretched if the monitor scales the display to full screen (I don't know since I don't have the monitor).

I hope this helps.

cheers

PCWB don't do a price promise. You can order from them as a normal customer, they don't care.

got the 20 inch version of this, it's a lovely monitor, fits into your eyes just right, and the response time is brilliant, had for a year i think and no dead pixels :S

You should add the cost of two Fanta bottles to the price if using the voucher method :whistling:
Thanks blackanchorage for the RAC discount link!

Some of the user reviews here say it has 1:1 pixel mapping.

Also from here & here:

This is also the first 22 inch TN to have 1:1 pixel mapping

The best thing about this monitor is it's 1:1 pixel mapping

This has been dispatched by play.com early this morning. Hopefully I'll get this in the next couple of days.

Thanks to Zootaga for the deal.

Anyone else got their's

I would definitely get one if it did 1920X1200.
Only 24" + seem to do this resolution though.

I was looking for this monitor at this price - sadly expired now.
