This is due to the shipping cost, which is clearly pointed out in the deal post above (and the price is listed as £151.98 inc. delivery).

And what's 20% off £147.99?

Its not 20% off, its a for a voucher for 20% of the items value you can spend on other stuff, they send it you after your order.

Just used a previous voucher for £120, so this will cost me under £30 with quidco! Bargain!

I'm curious to see if the 20% credit back will be on the value of the monitor or the total amount I paid, if I get 20% of the £150 this costs then I'll basically have paid nothing!

Correct.

I bought this a month ago,

Remember it is a monitor and on the xbox 360
you can change your Resolution to many monitor sizes, however none say "1080p" "720p" etc, it;s just 1920 x 1080..

This seems to have an effect as it just makes the picture the right size, it is good quality. Just not HD TV quality.

However response times are brilliant, and it is VERY good with a PC.

I had LOTS of trouble putting the stand on by the way, You are too scared to break it that you don't dare push it. Well You HAVE to push it hard and then it works ;)

1920x1080 is 1080P

Xbox 360 games aren't rendered at 1080P though, they're rendered at a lower resolution (720P or below for some games) and then scaled to 1920x1080.

The panel in this is exactly the same resolution as a full HDTV.

Great monitor awful company to deal with if any sniff of a problem. Had issues with my order never got any further help later on, heat added for price only. If you find even slightly more at say Amazon or Ebuyer go there and make ths purchase.

I also used the code NEWBIE75 to get an extra £10 off:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/385752/10-off-a-75-spend-cdiscount-discoun/

(not certain it's going to work but it seemed to apply both codes...)

There is still a lot of confusion about HD, but what do you think '1080p' stands for?

1080 pixels and '1920 x 1080' refers to the amount of pixels the screen can display, see?

I mean.
It allows you have to more resolutions on the xbox 360 than a normal TV would. there's like 10+ options..

Also,
Compare a TV of 23" HD to this and you will see what I mean, It's not very sharp or anything.

No! The P stands for progressive scan as opposed to 1080i which is interlaced scan, see?

In progressive each line is scanned from 1 to 1080 but in interlaced two scans are done, odd numbered lines then even numbered lines.

Forgot to say... great monitor. I got one about 2 months ago from CDiscount. I've used 1920x1080 on both the DVI and VGA inputs and there is a small but noticable improvement on the DVI input. It's still perfectly usable on the VGA input so for VGA only users don't be put off.

God my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw this - didn't realise it wasn't the freeview tv version!

Phew. Not that this isn't a great deal like!

Ebuyer currently have it listed at £148.73 delivered if you don't fancy faffing around with a cashback voucher.

And that there is the stupidity of things - your post will probably be removed as ebuyer are banned from this site!

Why are Ebuyer banned?

I guess because of their constantly fluctuating prices?

EDIT: Ah.

emmajk42
Currently, we have made the decision not to allow ebuyer deals on the forums, due to constant self-promotion which is a breach of the HUKD code of conduct.

That link takes you to a cheap, unknown name, 22" monitor (great reviews) but I guess a mod could have changed the link to throw us off the trail. ;-)
Easy to find the real one though.

I've gone for one of these! HOT!
I've been on the prowl for a bigger monitor with DVI, and as its Samsung, even better! :w00t:

Cheers MikeT

That's probably down to the xbox feeding it upscaled 720p content as Minstadave said, a PC monitor shouldn't be any less sharp in native resolution but a TV will do a lot more mucking around with lower resolution pictures to make them better since it'll be displaying that most of the time (while the PC will operate at the screen's native resolution most of the time.

Of course, this is a cheap monitor so it's not going to compare to a good quality monitor or TV.

I ordered mine at 3.05pm yesterday and I'm using it as I write this!!! I appreciate people say bad things about CDiscount but judging on this, my first order? I can't fault them. When I checked the tracking this morning, the HDN website said that my shipment couldn't be delivered and was 'held', so I was fuming. I called up CDiscount who said they don't know why it wasn't updated at my end but they could see that it had been updated past mine and had been loaded onto the van at 7.40am this morning. I'd say they've been first class for price, speed and customer service. The monitor is absolutely superb and the colours just blow my old CRT out of the water!!

Now I'm just waiting for my £16 Logitech X230 speakers, which have got nothing but good reviews, wherever I go :)
#33
Mine is here too, very rapid service, quidco has tracked so now the monitor has cost me £20 in total. Just waiting for my vouchers now :D
#34
Got mine today and lovin' it!!

Its HUGE!!!
