Niice. Went for the LG 3D one for £170 but if you don't want 120fps or 3d, and just want a big ass monitor, that'll be perfect :D

I've got Samsung monitor for all the family and a Samsung TV always been reliable and have looked good.

£150 on amazon at the moment.

Hot from me. I don't need it. I'm tempted.

Does this monitor come with a DVI cable ?
#12
Well I've just bought one.
I've bought 2 Samsung LED TV's for people I know and both are amazing. Same tech in the monitors.
Can't believe the price!
#13
It looks like in eco mode it can run for a full constant three days on one unit of electricity.
#14
This is an amazing price. Hot all the way

The better(?) model is the BX2331 http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitors/design/LS23X3HKFN/EN/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail

It has 2xHDMI and VGA, although it's not on offer.

I recently got a BenQ G2420HD that is just LCD, because it had the HDMI - uses 49w. Maybe should have waited a while as there seems to be lots of 22 thru 24 inch LED backlit with HDMI at better prices - and they only use about half the power.

which DVI cable do you need with this (DVI-I Dual Link?) and does it come supplied with it?

Also a question for JHW, whats so important about HDMI? Other than it playing sound through it

Can you also play sound another way via the xbox if its connected by DVI?

I can't imagine you'd lose quality as they are both digitial signals but I could be wrong.

Single link is fine for 1080P.

No. On a basic level HDMI is DVI + Audio so there is no signal conversion.

Just ordered one, was looking for a new monitor.

bought the 22" acer the other day, looks like that'll be going on ebay now!

It is on offer for just over £83, also from ebuyer (there is another thread on hotdeals). I went for that one for the HDMI ports.

Now all I have to do is break the news to the missus before the parcel arrives. I think I'll start with "Good News! I just saved us £70!....."

Can anyone offer some good advice for a totally newbie on LCD screens, i'm still running CRT which means i have to deal with refresh rates/resolution etc but i have heard that using LCD via DVI means you don't have to worry about it just plug it in and away you go, also what kind of lead will be needed for this (from dvi video card) if i only plan on using it for PC use (not xbox or anything) does HDMI really matter by the sound of thing only advantage is HDMI allows audio where DVI does not.

You just need a regular DVI cable; this doesn’t have HDMI anyway.

According to comment somewhere "this monitor will ONLY WORK using a DVI-I Dual Link cable."

1080P only requires single link. Ask the person that suggested otherwise.
