Good price for an absolutely great screen.

Currently Play.com are selling them for £169.99 delivered. Apply the voucher code from the HDUK site ('experience08') for 5% discount + another possible 4% quidco means you could be getting this unit for £154.69! (Quidco tracked for me at the full £169.99 price).

People have previously mentioned that the 22" monitor is simlarly priced. Research shows that the panels in these are can be of a lower quality, the screen is the same resolution anyway.

Monitor has loads of good reviews on play.com but a few poor ones on amazon.
I am after a TFT and may go for it. May even re-install Homeworld too as it'll look good on this.

I saw the Amazon reviews but to be honest they seem poorly educated, especially the negative ones (one of which was more of a reflection on Pixmania than the product!).

I based my decision on what I consider to be the more intelligent reviews on ebuyer. There is more of them to get a better feel too. (55 reviews compared to 9).

They look very similar except the pebble is a glossy black.

Today I received the Samsung SM206BW from eBuyer. On connecting it up I was disappointed to find that it had a bright red stuck pixel. On calling customer service I was told that they do not consider that to be a fault and therefore they will not pick up and replace free of charge. So, although I explained that I would be happy to accept a replacement they will not agree to do so and therefore I have had to resort to returning it under the DSR regulations which will cost me a further £12 in postage.

Not only that, the packaging and contents had obvious signs that it had been returned by a previous customer, ripped outer cardboard where labels had been and different sealing tape across flaps, leads not in correct bags, twist ties not tied round leads and leaflets looked well fingered!

Moral of the story, irrespective of whether faulty pixels are acceptable, I would never buy a monitor (or anything else now) from eBuyer or from any online retailer unless I am sure they will replace without quibble. I’d rather pay more in the high street, at least that way I would be able to ascertain policy at time of Purchase.

I bought mine from play.com months ago. It came brand new and there was no signs that the packing had been tampered with.
Touch wood the monitor is perfect not one dead or different colour pixel.
Got to admit I've heard quite a few negative stories about ebuyer cutomer service, but I have not bought anything from them, so I can't make a opinion.
