It is according to Samsungs specs - http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=itbusiness&type=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_cd=LS20TDDSUV/EN

A few samsungs are like this including mine.

They accept full HD on the HDMI port, and is registers as 1920, but the monitors resolution is 1650...not sure how it does it, but it looks great!
#5
please note this is the 20" n not the 22"
#6
This is not full HD, title should be amended.
#7
Shame it can't be mounted
#8
also this is NOT 20,000:1 Contrast, it is 10,000:1 , just like it is in the picture - Must be amended!

Why is your post cold when it only takes a few extra key strokes to spell correctly?:p

No it's not. That's a dynamic stat, completely meaningless. They don't publish the real figure because it'll be embarrassing.
#14
It accepts a 1080p input but it doesn’t have a 1080p panel; it’s 1680x1050 which is appropriate for this size monitor.

Yes, real figures are a fraction of dynamic. They only publish dynamic to 'appear' to keep up with Plasma, which they are miles behind on contrast.

this is a great deal tho: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158731

It's only £10 less than this though and this is 20" 1680x1050 versus 19"1440x900 so all other things being equal I'd happily pay the extra tenner for this.

and the buit-in digital freeview? and the fact that this one is wall-moutable? i think i'd prefer the 19 inch. plus u won't get any benefit in terms of the extra resolution since consoles, such as the PS3, either output in HD or full HD, nothing in between!

Xbox 360 can now give you 1680x1050 using the VGA cable. If, of course, you have the latest update.

Not a great deal. I picked up a 22" Samsung 2232BW for the same price around 6 months ago....

So that makes this deal HOT then - As this is a TV as well and the specs are much better on this one...

Also I do understand the difference between Dynamic and non-dynamic contrast as I'm very much into TV's myself - It's just the spec has listed the wrong Dynamic contrast -

the T220 has got 20,000:1 , but the T220HD (TV Built in) has got 10,000:1

*EDIT* And it is saying that this had got 2ms response - again that's in the T220, not the T220HD - This one has 5ms response - definitely needs to be edited.

are there any drawbacks from using the monitor as your main tv? will it need to be plugged into a pc? wanted it for my bedroom, mainly ps3?

It can, there's an adaptor available - look for Samsung T series mount.

No - My other half uses the T220HD and it runs as a TV should and you won't need it plugged into anything else. Very good picture too, but settings do need tweaking when you get it. And yes it will work with the PS3

This samsung is wall mountable, you need to buy a seperate adapter for it though.

This Samsung should also have built in freeview too.

So, this is far better value I think :)

i got my gf one of these for xmas, its brilliant. only paid £9 more. looks gorgeous and pretty high res too

dont forget you can run the xbox 360 at this resolution if you have a vga cable :)
#25
Hey just bought one last night :) my monitor died saturday so needed a quick replacement, wanted to spend less than £200 so this has fit the bill nicely, thanks!

They both have a Freeview tuner.
Wall mounting tends to be typically much less of an issue for monitors especially small ones!
You’re forgetting that it’s a monitor and not just a TV so you’ll always get the full benefit of the extra resolution on the 20”.
#27
So the response rate and resolution have been edited, but the Dynamic Contrast still remains double of what it should be.... This must be edited as well.
#28
So anyone have a idea where to get the:?: wall bracket to match? Thanks

Bought this in my local supermarket yesterday for £169.99, went back and bought another today for the other bedroom.

It stated on the Morissons price tag it was a 'special purchase'.
