Resolution 1680x1050

This is not 1080p
#2
Needs to have at least 1080 lines of vertical resolution to be 1080p. This has only 1050 - so close, but no cigar I'm afraid.
#3
Available here for £209.88 delivered, with a 3 year warranty compared to 1 year at Cdiscount.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=itbusiness&type=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_cd=LS22TDDSUV/EN

samgung site (above) says : T220HD

features : full HD 1080P

I know nothing about TV's i leave these to other half but im only showing what the samsumg site says about this model

You'd have to be sitting pretty close to a 22" tv to notice the difference between a 1080p set and a 720p/1080i set.

At this size, personally I'd stick with the cheaper 720p tvs, unless you're using it as a pc monitor.
#6
definately NOT 1080p

check this

I think CDiscount have it wrong, as Samsung's warranty terms state 1-year for TVs & 3-years for monitors.

As this can be found in the monitor section at Samsung, it's first classed as a monitor by them - which should be 3-years I reckon for a new one, no matter where one buys it from.

Good price btw

Great price for this TV.

Have been waiting for it to come down in price from £209 at Amazon - very nearly brought that...

CDiscount's 3 part payment is great too (interest free), as it's better off in my bank than theirs!

Gonna order today (Wife permitting!!)

I have this TV in the bedroom. Irrespective of resolution, it has an amazing picture. I paid £230 at Christmas time, and it is worth every penny.
#10
I have this TV, it accepts a 1080p signal (in my case PS3) and then scales it to the 1680x1050, which is higher than 720p resolution. TV is great, I have returned it already though as it was dead on arrival, samsung confirmed a 3 year warranty.

Hope this helps guys.
#11
The features section on samsung's website tell you what are features of the particular range rather than the particular model - a rather sneaky trick pulled by manufacturers to try and convince you you're getting alot more for your money when you're not.

This is not 1080p

it's close enough, like you are going to notice 30 lines.

I guess you are losing a bot more on the horizontal res though 1920 vs 1680
#13
I have never used CDiscount before - how much would postage for this TV/monitor be?
#14
Ive gotn an LG 22" TV/Monitor and the Quality is great, and yeh im guessing this does the same in that it accepts a 1080 signal and just scales it to 1680*1050 res. Looks great and is a cracking piece of kit. I paid about £230 over a year ago for it, but this is still a good price as Samsung usualy cost more than LG from what i remeber when i was looking for one.
#15
as this isnt a regular 4:3 or 16:9 tv is the picture aspect ratio distorted?
or do we lose some of the picture?

To answer my own question, I have just ordered one from them, and the delivery cost a whopping £1.99, even to NI !!!!

This is great, as usually mainland retailers bang the P&P prices up for NI. Good on you, CDiscount. If I find now that I get good service from them, then I will be using them again in the future.

As for the TV itself, I have been waiting for quite a few months to get a small LCD for the bedroom. Prices have been hovering around the £190 - £240 mark for a 22" LCD, without ever getting any lower. I had thought that with Xmas long gone and sales plummeting that prices would fall a lot, but it has not been the case. In fact I have even read that a few of the big manufacturers have said that they may have to increase prices soon due to the weak £ and the cost of importing electrical items into the UK. This is perhaps just talk to get us to spend now rather than later, but I think at £191 for a top brand LCD TV delivered to my door with 3 months to pay interest free, I have made the right choice.

Thanks and heat added.

I'd go for the next model up - T240HD £299 @ Amazon (see 'More Buying Choices' in the right column - for the one below as well).

They also do a 26" version - T260HD for ~£100 more.

Shop around as you might get them cheaper elsewhere.

Edit: cooper1258's latest post reminded me about Quidco's CDiscount cashback.

Standard delivery on this is £1.99 therefore total of £191.98 or three payments of £63.99 in. Needs paying with in 3 months as I read it.

I need to mount this to the wall. I know this can be done with Samsung part number WMB1900T. However I cant find them for sale anywhere in the UK. If anyone finds it can you post a link

Great deal especially with the 3 installments:)

Can anyone comment on the sound quality for very basuc TV viewing (news, etc). Many of the small TV's seem to get bad reviews for their sound quality, although I know this does not apply to all.

Yep. And the 3-year warranty, as most standalone TVs (incl Samsungs) come with only a year as standard.

Also available with Amazon at £193.97....I know who I'd rather purchase from!

Amazing Price. I had the T200HD previously in my bedroom and paid £190 and thought that was good. This TV is most certainly is Full 1080P HD:thumbsup:

I has the T200HD. The Picture Quality is more PC Monitor like, ie the image drops off more quickly than a normal samsung TV if you view off Angle. The Sound Quality is only 3 watts per channel and it aint good i can tell you. My mother has a Samsung 19" LCD TV and the sound is better on that. Your never going to get good sound on a small lcd TV. Great Price though for a Good Quality 22" TV for kids bedroom or as a pc monitor with Very Low power consumption. PS I Prefer the Gloss Black on most other Samsung Products, as I did tire of the Rose Black design after a while. Hope this Helps

The info in this link posted earlier by toonarmani should answer / refute those.

If it were necessary & possible, isn't it relatively easy (& inexpensive) to connect powered speakers to these?

I had the T200HD and never noticed any problems with the aspect ratio using the built in FREEVIEW. Looked liked normal widescreen to me.

I think you have ordered the T220 which is the rose black non HDMI version and without freeview capabilities.

This one right?

There seems to be some confusion with regards to the warranty and delivery costs of this particular item.

All products from Cdiscount.co.uk come with a 14 day fault warranty and a standard 1 years manufacturer's warranty.

Samsung have confirmed to cdiscount.co.uk the Samsung T220HD 22" HD 1080P Digital LCD TV comes with a 36 month/3 year manufacturer's warranty.

Superb!

What happens to the 30 lines of pixels from full HD when it reduces to 1050? 15 off the top and bottom???
When you use an lcd monitor at a non native res it is never as sharp due to resampling.

most tv's have different modes you can select, you can probably rezise or "chop it off". Also this effect is not nearly so noticeable with video.
