First post so be gentle, looked cheap for a Full HD Samsung TV

Specs:-

The SAMSUNG T240HD HDTV monitor looks more like artwork than a high-performance video display. It features revolutionary Touch of Color, a built-in full HD 1080p digital HDTV tuner, so you can watch both TV and HDTV, and 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for sharp images. Beautifully designed, the T240HD is unlike any monitor youve ever seen.

Touch of Color
Make a statement with SAMSUNGs new Touch of Color design. It features a hint of color naturally blended into the traditional piano black frame. Transforming our already stylish monitors into a work of art, it truly is unlike anything youve ever seen.

Dolby Digital Surround
The sound quality is just as impressive as the picture. An invisible speaker system with stunning Dolby Digital surround sound lets you experience the thrill and excitement of movies, music, games.

lower power consumption
The T240HD is designed to be extremely efficient and uses up to a third less power than other monitors in its class. The unique SoftPower off function lets you put the T240HD in standby mode right away, using just 0.3W of power.

full HDTV monitor
The T240HD features a built-in full HD 1080p digital HDTV tuner, so you can watch both TV and enjoy the benefits of high-definition entertainment.

dual HDMI inputs, DVI and VGA inputs
Two High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connections make your monitor a multimedia centerpiece and let you easily and conveniently connect your other digital devices.

10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The contrast between light and dark colors on the screen is what makes images stand out. The bigger the difference between light and dark images, the more vibrant images will appear. With an amazing dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 youll enjoy sharper image quality thats sure to catch your eye.

I bought this for £235 a few weeks ago and it's one of my favourite ever purchases. There's none left in Aberdeen. For a full stock list, see the original thread

Yeah, it looked cheap to me as I was after similar, looked cheap @ £235, then saw it @ £200, and thought wow, waiting for one more potential cut down to £165, then I will be buying. :p

From that same thread, from rkmayar
"not a bad deal but likely to price drop again . voted hot"

Had to give him some rep for that.

Is there an easy way to check stock and reserve one?

Why no standard Vesa Wall mount, that is just crazy. I would have snapped one of these up but I need it wall mounted in the bedroom.

There's been a few people who have said these T2x0HD series shouldn't be compared to Samsung's TVs as they are, in terms of quality, a monitor at heart. Anyone care to shed any light? Seeing as refurb 32PG6000s can be had on the auction site for £60 or so more, would this be lacking and leave me wanting?

Got the T220HD TV/monitor - absolutely no complaints from me. It works just like a TV and the quality is fine too.

It was in my local with stock, and I saw it and walked away.. :) I hope it not gone now.. Doubt it, but anyway why do I hope it is not gone? I am getting a 22" Full HD Monitor for £108 delivered brand new of a reputable seller.

I bought one a month ago, paid £250, a bit disappointing it can't be wall mounted. Good TV for the price though.

Bought the 220hd from asda a couple of months back for £200, looked great from directly in front of it with the 360 and sky sd ok, but the viewing angles were really poor, particularly from below, the picture went to dark to watch. I would imagine the 24'' version is similar, maybe some comments from owners for guidance although Asda took it back no probs so you can always demo it at home...
Very good deal though if it fits your requirements:thumbsup:

Lack of wall mounting is a show stopper for me as I'd want it for the bedroom as well.

Please, show evidence for this, if it is a refurb of ebay, just don't get there IMO..

If you want to buy refurb go for it, but in my opinion on electrical it is always best to buy new, as refurb you never know what you are going to get, somebody else's parts fused together to make a new object for you.. It is like buying a second hand card.. You never know how the previous owner has treated it..

I've not voted this cold, I was just asking as I just want to get the best for my buck. This is good value, hence me asking. I just don't want to buy something and then want for something else!

Nor was I having a pop... I was just stating my opinion, is that not allowed here?

I got one today, seems pretty bl**dy good to me, better than the £160 22" UMC from Tesco not long ago.
#27
I got one ha! As I type I bet people are on their way to the following Asda.

Coventry had 9 in stock - the big one in Walsgrave - now they have 8!

They only had 22 inch on display hence 9 left in stock!

Good review here: http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitors/review/2008/08/20/Samsung-SyncMaster-T240HD-24in-DTV-Monitor/p1
I can't believe it's not wall mountable.

They had four in stock at the Stevenage Asda at 10.30pm this evening. I bought two (for work). They had loads of the 22" monitor. Seems good for 200 quid.

Awesome deal, shame that there's none in the London Asdas (thanks for ringing around jj_dealhunter). This has everything I want in a 24" LCD - HDMI inputs, DVI inputs, SCART/Component inputs (for consoles). Alas. Still, maybe this deal will occur again.
#38
Picked on of these up from the Gosforth store (Newcastle) yesterday. Great price.
#39
Well theres none in the Greater Manchester area, and that's a big fact!

I've just spent all morning ringing around nearly 30 stores!

Most of them are saying they are only stocked at very large Asda stores, Mainly city centres, others are saying that they sold them all weeks ago (at a higher price might i add)

It's a hot deal but I think this is heading towards expired now

Not tried liverpool or yorkshire, but it depends how much you want to travel really,

Asda direct cannot check stock locally, they advised me to ring around local stores.

none in glasgow at all :( . cheapest new I could find is 250

nice one to those who got their hands on it
