Phones4U have the excellent Samsung Tocco F480 for free on a Vodafone contract with 7 months free line rental on a 12 month contract, saving you £280 over the 12 month period. So, for £200 (after cashback) you get the Samsung Tocco (for free), 12 months line rental (after which you may cancel the contract), and inclusive minutes and texts each month; the amount depending on the tariff that you choose. This works out at just £16.67 per month after cashback - a huge reduction on the £40 per month which these great tariffs are usually priced at. Purchase via QuidCo for £50 in extra cashback, bringing the price down to a mere £150.

**This phone would cost in the region of £280 if purchased on pay as you go, so this works out a lot cheaper and you get the minutes/texts too!!**

There's a choice of tariff on this deal. The two tariffs available are Anytime Calls 40 and Anytime Text 40. Anytime Calls 40 has an initial outlay of £40 per month, and offers 700 anytime, any network minutes and 250 text messages per month. Anytime Text 40 has an initial outlay of £40 per month, and offers 600 anytime, any network minutes and 500 text messages per month. For those of you who want a slightly lower risk, this is also available for free on the Vodafone Anytime Calls 30 and Anytime Text 30 tariffs, with 10 months half price line rental on a 12 month contract. You get less minutes and texts, and it still works out at around the same total cost as the other tariffs, but the initial outlay is only £30 per month as opposed to £40. Anytime Calls 30 has an initial outlay of £30 per month, and offers 250 anytime, any network minutes and 100 text messages per month. Anytime Text 30 has an initial outlay of £30 per month, and offers 150 anytime, any network minutes and 500 text messages per month.

The Samsung F480 Toccos name derives from the Italian word for touch, which is evidently relevant in the handsets new haptic vibrating touch screen that responds to human interaction. The Samsung Toccos design is true class, compact elegance, and high sophistication all classically protected within a pure leather case. The detail in craftsmanship applied to the Tocco is consistent throughout the phones materialistic and technological attributes, and simply holding the phone delivers a reassuring feel of expense. Constructed in a similar form to the fashionable Samsung Armani, the Tocco expresses an aesthetic appeal un-rivalled by its predecessors. The Samsung Tocco delivers a highly detailed 5 mega-pixel camera, with flash and face detection for all variety of photos. Additionally, the Tocco offers a download speed of 7.2 Mbps, which is extremely competitive against the rest of the market. To sum the Samsung Tocco up, this mobile phone is a collaboration of beauty and technology.

This offer works by cashback which you claim from Phones4U at specified intervals. You have a massively generous 60 days to send the claim. You must have paid each bill in its entirety, so please only use this deal if you can afford to pay the bills on time and remember to keep on top of the cashback. Use recorded delivery when sending the claims, or better still - special delivery with consequential loss cover. Phones4U are a large high street firm, and are fairly reliable when it comes to cashback.

**Remember to decline/cancel the insurance that they try to give you as it can be very expensive!!**

Hi Duckmagicuk2,

Do you know exactly how many free mins/texts you get on the lower priced tarrif ?

Cheers,M.B.C

The Anytime Calls 30 (250 mins, 100 texts) and Anytime Text 30 (150 mins, 500 texts) are actually on 10 months half price but, as duck says, work out at about the same total spend.

EDIT: Scrap that! They want £149.95 for the phone. Totally missed that bit - so used to phones being free on most contracts these days.

This is also now free on the cheaper tariff (as per our discussion on page 1) and I shall add that bit back into the OP.

glad this one is back as missed it whe it disappeared.. hubby just got out of 3 contract due to their 1 minute billing. £12.50pm not bad (after cashback/quidco) esp with 700mins/250text
#13
Voted hot, but not for phones4u, they are one of the dodgiest companies alive.
#14
bindiboo - would you mind telling me how your husband managed to do that please? I am 12 months in to an 18 month contract with 3, and would love to get out as the coverage is cr*p.

I'm on there 15 pound text contract - 600 texts and 75 minutes a month.

Any info would be brilliant, thanks.

Cannot see the 7 months free line rental on a 12 month vodafone contract.
As for Quidco, this from their website: Please note that you are unable to earn cashback for this merchant but watch this space as we will let you know as soon ...
#16
Quidco does not give anything for phones4u ?
Where does the £50 come from ?
#17
steve,
i believe they sent a letter out some time ago advising that they were changing the terms of the contract and as such, you had rights to terminate contract early.

I recevied the letter, can't remember where i put it now.

anyone thinking of getting this phone think twice - I've had mine for nearly a month and it's not very easy to use, touchscreen scroll function is a nightmare to move acuratley (unless i'm doing something wrong?!) and the sound quality on loudspeaker is very poor.

Its easy to use, you must be doing something wrong.
The sound quality from loudspeaker is fine for a convesation, not sure about music playback as i dont use it for that - nothing worse than having the air polluted by someone inflicting their awful music on others.

Talked to a vodafone rep last week (Thursday) They don't have the phone in stock at base. When asked when they will be getting more in i was told. Not for the foreseable future as they are havin a 90% return on them. Multiple faults and problematic interface are the reasons given.

Odd that it is available to order on the vodafone website then... you'd think they would have pulled it when according to your info its been out of stock at least 6 days... :whistling:

Exactly what i thought. I did go through upgrades though and spoke to 2 different people that told me similar things. I have a friend who has one and says he loves it. But I have no idea. I ended up getting the U900 Soul. If they were lying i have 14 days so will return for the Tocco!

Any news on £50 quidco ? as they are showing as 0% atm.

I tested this phone for 30 mins and found it easy to use, no idea what you are doing wrong, maybe your not into touch screen phones.

i got a tocco off this deal and went through quidco and it was saying £50 then - that was the sweetener that actually made me go for it now it hasnt tracked nor showing and now it says 0% no cashback

what the f*** - u cant do that it was showing when i went through it

that said i really like the phone and have no problems with it whatsoever

Thanks very much binidboo

as an example - when i go back to the list of previous numbers i have called - it's nightmare trying to scroll and stop on the number i want to dial- always seems to stop on the one before or after the number i wanted?! Also the reminder feature via the calander is a complete faff to use - have to set start and end times and then scroll thru a load of other features to set the alarm - then when the alarm does go off there is no snooze function to remind you say 10 or 15 mins later etc. I don't think it's a very user friendly or logically laid out phone.
