This is actually a very good phone, with a great touch screen and user-interface. It lacks 3G and WiFi, but apart from that, gets very good reviews. Carphone Warehouse are doing an online exclusive on PAYG Vodafone, with a minimum of £10 topup (for which you get 100 minutes and 300 texts free) for £79.95. Go through Quidco to get £5 off, making it £84.95.

(E2Save charge £6 delivery, hence this deal is cheaper.)

Often compared to the LG Cookie KP500, the phones are similar but the Tocco seems to be everyone's favourite.

I know, I was a bit annoyed too 'cause I was actually going to order from E2save till I found they were charging for delivery. False advertising really.

Is there anyway of you trying to see if it works with a different network simcard? I would be grateful for the effort, as i am very interested in buying this phone, so if it works with a O2 simcard i will definitely buy it

Also how good is the phone? i do alot of texting and picture messaging, so i love the idea of the qwerty keyboard.
#20
Just received my handset and it's UNLOCKED!!! They send the handset with a separate Vodafone PAYG simcard. Lovely and its works with my O2 simcard without any problems  Great little handset aswell!!!

I asked about this phone in a Carphone Warehouse shop as I was looking for a decent but cheap phone for a SIM only tariff. They said that because the PAYG phones were still subsidised that the phone would not only be locked to that network but to that actual SIM as well. I think he was telling me Porky's but has any one else had similar.

[COLOR="Purple"]i bought my daughter the pink one from cpw, it came unlocked with vodafone sim seperate..

What are the good & bad points of this phone ?
#27
Carphone warehouse PAYG handsets are all unlocked because they sell handsets on so many different networks so it easier for them to sell this way.

Did you know that you can do a "Pre pay upgrade" on some networks. I did this with my daughter the other day who bought an LG KS 360 on Orange PAYG but becauce she had an Orange sim from her previous handset they carried out a upgrade where they migrated her old numer and registrtion details to the new sim. This way i didn't have to buy the £10 top so i got the handset for £69.95 instead of £79.95.

Direct competior to the LG Cookie so it has the same features. The LG is slimmer but the Samsung is a lot better to get along with.

I got one from the Dialaphone deal ,http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=467942 been using mine a week , really good phone, only nagging thing is i keep accidently triggering the fake call and cant seem to turn it off.
#30
if you are considering this phone then i would look at the vodafone website through quidco. they have 10% off handsets and £5 off per phone including sim card. which brings it down to around £75.

Its £90 on the Vodafone site

I bought one for the other halfs birthday on the deal someone put on from dialaphone. Worked out at £83 with £10 top-up and 8gb micro sd on vodaphone.

I can confirm the vodaphone was unlocked and the 02 sim worked fine, allows you to set network when different sims inserted.

Seems top phone from the little play i had.

I bought this hanset from CPW back at the beginning of June. They sold it to me on the T Mobile offer as this was the cheapest at the time on PAYG. I wanted Orange to keep my same sim and number but the boy in the shop told me to just use the £10 T Mobile sim credit then put my own sim card in as the phone was unlocked.
#34
its a rubbish phone even at this price

I just got one of these from cpw on vodaphone pay as you go. I was told over the phone and from one of their stores it'd be unlocked, sure enough it is.

For me the only negatives Ive found
The camera is only any good in optimum lighting and suffers far worse than other mobiles I've had.
Doesn't sync with my mac, importing contacts by vcard has problems aswell :(
When on loudspeaker the voice is mushy at the other end (so I'm told anyway!)

Other than that I'm well happy with it

They've been demoing this phone quite a lot recently on one of the shopping channels. The touch screen interface appeared to be pretty poor though, often requiring mutiple presses to successfully click a button, and scrolling seemed to require a rapid slide of the finger. I'd been quite tempted until I saw that, but it's really put me off now.

I had a demo in the shop and the assistant had the same problems! It was caused by her leaving the screen protector film on. :-D

The touch screen isn't anywhere near as good as my ipod touch but its not bad tbh, better than what I expected anyway.

Hopefully for a TV demo they'd have remembered to remove it!

Is it a hard screen, or a bit squidgy?
Thanks
