You should always use recorded, or special delivery for such claims. If regular post gets lost you have no redress otherwise. The same applies to anyone offering cashback deals.

CLAIMING CASHBACK- you may not need to use all 6 claim vouchers. Please see 'Your Offer Explained' sheet
that was sent with your phone. This details the number of claims you need to make and when to claim.
Failure to claim correctly may invalidate your claim.
When redeeming your cashback, we ask that one of the following claim vouchers is attached (photocopies and
faxes are not acceptable) to your relevant mobile phone bill, at the times specified on 'Your Offer Explained' and
following the rules in your Welcome pack. These vouchers help us verify your details and send you the cashback.
These vouchers should be attached to the front of your mobile phone bill at the relevant claim time and not when
you receive the bill. We suggest that claims are sent individually and by recorded delivery as we cannot be held
responsible for loss or non receipt.
Please keep these claim vouchers safe as they cannot be replaced.
For more information about your Cashback visit www.mycashbackclaim.co.uk
PRICE MATCH CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE - you may have additional terms that were part of your offer,
please refer to these before making any claims.

Interesting to note that they don't accept photocopies of the claim forms but they are there for you to print out, I never received any before so I use the ones on their web-site. They've never said anything about it but I guess they could potentially get funny about printing them on your pc being the same as a photocopy.

Doesn't appear to be a price match offer therefore the strict t&c's shouldn't apply. Personally I send special delivery with consequential loss insurance but for this recorded would probably be ok.

Should the list of retailers on the page your signature links to be clickable? I cant seem to find the reviews for each retailer. Maybe its me having a dumb moment.

I have had around a dozen cashback deals with either e2save or onestopphoneshop (both owned by Carphone Warehouse). Their cashback offers have become decidedly ambiguous of late, e.g. e2save e-mailed me a different set of ts&cs from those sent with the phone. They have also tried, on a couple of occasions to refuse payment on some spurious grounds. The threat of Small Claims Court action was enough to make them pay up. I imagine their drones have some sort of target of claims to refuse otherwise Charles Dunstone would not be making so much money.

It should be, it isn't.

The whole thread needs a re-write at some point which I will do soon. A few of the retailers no longer exist.

is the U600 a good phone? Quite tempted by this even though i've just got one of the bargain SE W810i's!
#12
Well its about the best phone available on a 12 month free deal at present. Since the collapse of many dealers who routinely offered 12 months free line rental deals, those that remain have tended to offer basic phones. This is a higher spec model that still sells for just under £100 on eBay new. This is a clearance model so the one you get may show signs of use.

You could always go for this deal, sell the handset and buy the Sony W810i (after unlocking it) on the other thread and be quids in.
#13
already got a W810i coming - should be here tomorrow :-D

It's quite tempting to flog the U600 as the free contract is a nice deal....just not sure i can be bothered with all the hassle of porting and then claiming cashback etc....
#14
Good deal. Not sure why they charge 99p for the phone.
A word of warning - these contracts are with CPW (not O2 directly). It's a bit of a hassle to cancel since you have to send the request in writing at the right time.

I think if the idea of ensuring claims are made on time is off putting then a cashback deal isnt for you. Thats how they fund these cashback deals by people signing up and then either forgetting to claim or thinking its too much trouble so best not to line their pockets further. Best of luck finding a deal to suit.

Cheers,

Kev

Told by e2Save that another 100 or so U600 arrived today and should be available on the website over the weekend
