Interesting might put this into my computer rack in the cellar :-)
#3
awesome I've after something like this for ages was looking to dismantle a portable dvd player to make one.

excellent :)
#4
why would u need one?
#5
Because my pc/media centre is connected to my 40" tv and sometimes I just want to check something quick and I have to interupt the tv viewing. If I want to tell the pc to record something this would be perfect. I gave up using dedicated pc monitors ages ago.
Also as Kemik said it's good for home server racks.

expired already?

wow was just going to buy - they had stock, replied to this went back and gone gutted!
#8
Can't argue with the price but I think the resolution is a bit low
#9
I just ordered one but I had the page open already and so could add to basket. Guess I won't get it though

You can get a 17/19" for only £10/£20 more..

If you look here it says coming soon
http://www.orangeaccessories.co.uk/clearance.html?offset=72

So it was either put up too early and they have taken it down or they put that when they have no stock.
#12
for those that ordered one, like me :),you can get X64 drivers from here
as the samsung drivers on the website are old.

My experience supports the view often expressed on here that Orange is an absolutely hopeless supplier. Good luck if you think you've ordered!
#14
hehe, yeah orange suck.was a bit of an impulse buy anyway,if it comes great,if not no big deal.

Can you set this up on pc so you have normal monitor for surfing and then this for say iplayer etc

Many reason.. mostly for using dedicated displays while multitasking. You can use 1 external monitor via the HDMI/D-Sub display out port, you can attach another U70 via USB port, this way you can have 3(or more) dedicated display. This one is ideal for keeping an eye on your mail/chat/FB etc. Worth mentioning it is NOT recomended if you want 1 for playing games or graphics work due to its lower resolution and slow response time.

Probably you are confusing it with normal powered monitors. Two of the most significant difference of this from the conventional monitors:
1. It connects via USB port not via normal display port.
2. It doesn't need separate power, it is powered from USB port only, so you can use multiple display while travelling (if you need) even if you don't have access to power socket.

These monitors are designed to do exactly those things. Please check if its resolution is good enough to play iplayer.

Excellent idea for setting up a new pc for somebody or a small screen for a server to make modifications, ect. I'll have to pass for now, but I may buy it some time in the next couple of weeks! Definitely a good price though.
