Dixsons £949.95 if you buy before 8am monday(01/02/10) you get 5% off(£902.45) plus 3.2% quidco. I make it out to be ~£778. what about the model above it(the ue40b7000/7020)? 'only' £100-£150 or so more expensive after the cashback + quidco(~£920 compared to £778 from dixons).

I'm looking at getting a new tv myself, been wondering if 'led tvs' are worth the extra over the 'normal' lcd models. been looking at the samsung 40inch leb651(~£650) and ue407000/7020(~£920).

I know three people with these Samsung LED TV's, each have different ones (ie series 6 / 7 / 8) and they swear by them. The coulours are amazing due to the LED, truly stunning when watching a blu ray. One of my mates also brought this after his old 1080P Samsung TV broke, and he says that not only is the picture better bt the sound is amazing too!!

would you say the 8 series is worth the extra over the 7 series(l~£135 after quidco and £200 cash back from samsung)?

if you take quidco/topcash out of the equation for now(it's like £20-£30) as for whatever reason you may not get it, series 6 is ~£800, series 7 is ~£950 and series 8 is £1090 once you get the cashback from samsung(all these prices from dixons, maybe more/less depending where you buy from).

I've been looking at the lg 42inch ls9500 as well, comes to ~£860 after the dixons 5% off 3.2% quidco. it's had decent reviews tho not as good as the samsungs. same for the sharp le7000(can get the 40inch for £750).

I think the only real differences is what extra features they come with, eg you tube. Absolutely no difference in picture quality. Personally I want a really good 1080p tv, don't need you tube as if needed i'll look on my computer. Series 6 seems best value to me!

Bought the 40" 7 series in October, even the misses has to admit that the pictures are stunning. HD TV images are awesome and BluRays are indeed amazing. Don't forget to get John Lewis to price match the cheapest you can find and get the free 5 year warrantee.

It's not cheaper at pixmania because for some reason you cannot claim Samsung Eco cashcack on purchases from that web site?! That's what I've read on other posts before anyways.

Dont think John Lewis price match online deals...:x. I think I will have to look at bigger stores eg comet, currys etc for this
