Oh you're right :). Sorry my bad, I also discovered that youtube is the most factual information source on the web. The more you know.

Sarcasm aside, what LG are doing here is messing with the ignorant. What they mean, is a full array of led lights.

No -- nothing has changed and your first retort was correct.
The LED is the back lighting - nothing else. The LCD still provides the colour mask through which the LED light travels.
The full LED is an LED behind each pixel of colour which has a dramatic affect on its ability to black out areas (eliminating the poor blacks of constant back-light which are grey).
The standard LED is just substituting 'constant on' LED's in place of the traditional cold cathode tubes which are constant lights from the edges either way.

Decent price but its a 2/3 years and major repair Samsung. Google Samsung clicking re cheap capacitors blowing.

How many times has there been an argument on here about Backlight and Full LED TVs? Come on guys.
#12
for the dummys you get led edge lit which the most of the cheap led tv sets have , led backlit which is well better than a normal lcd ccfl tv set and the superior which is really expensive and not yet available oled.

Ordered this last night, looks like a great deal.

Only worry for me is that the order confirmation looks a bit odd. Definitely confirms it's that bundle but doesn't say anything about including the DVD player in the components of the bundle. Hope it's OK.

Awww no, now LGs marketing are re-inforcing this misleading information.

I think that since consumers came to understand what "full hd" meant they could use similar terminology to help them understand there are 2 kinds of LED tvs.

However both Full array LED tvs and edge array LED TVs are LCD TVs with LCD backlights full array just has improved contrast ratio and can control the brightness of each pixel indivisually.

I am tired of explaining this, can't we just use the term "edge array" and "full array" they describe the difference quite clearly and would stop people saying "thats not an LED tv its just got a backlight" THEY ALL HAVE A DAMN BACKLIGHT, just some have more targeted backlights than others.

no 100hz? no gud
#22
at the end of the day , it is still a good price for this this tv surely. there are so many arguements on every type of technology. like the old one, lcd or plasma. i chose lcd, wrong move it was for me. it wasnt that the tv failed , it was just easier for my child to break. my replacement plasma has taken cars, screwdrivers etc thrown at it and still going strong. cant wait until the sharp tv's with the additional yellow pixel come down in price, they look awesome in-store

Yeah I ordered it and this is worrying me. The order confirmation I posted above doesn't make it clear if the tv is included. I phoned to check but they weren't very helpful!

that's not true! The full array give you many more LED spots behind the LCD panel but NOT behind each pixel, that would be awesome but sadly not available (yet?)

Edge array does/can turn them on or off but this is much more rare to happen since huge parts of the screen would have to be displaying black.

Guys, not sure I understand what the difference between LED Backlit is and FULL LED. Can someone please explain?

And how much are TV's with Super LED? They are the ones that come with frontlight LEDs I think, something about making whites whiter.
