no glasses though? so potentially better off getting the M&S deal on the Sony, as you get blu ray player and 2 glasses for £999

Honestly speaking check the quality of the two tvs next to each other and you will see why the SAMSUNG stands out. And this is coming from a Sony fanboy!

This will come down in price as the D Series (2011 model) is out very soon.

Questions guys, any idea what we could expect in the newer models?? and what price bracket are we looking at?? I have placed the order yesterday, but I cancel it.

I had been waiting for a long time to order this TV as I just the crispness of the picture quality. The 3d is average to good.
But if the prices of D series is going to very high somewere in the 2K bracket then I might aswell buy this one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

All the information so far indicates the D8000 series will have many improvements over the C series. A lot of information around, expect prices will be similar to the old "C" sets although discounts could take 2 to 3 months to filter down.

The new D series does look impressive, you can't even tell there's a bezel on the TV lol. But expect the new 8 series to cost around £1500-£2000. If you find the specs of the current series good enough for your needs, then go for it! It's still a stunning TV.

Thanks for the replies guys, very informative. Looks like I am going to cancel the order now. Seems to be dramatic improvements. I like the fact the bezel is non-existent now (mere 5mm) and the new touch screen remote with capabilities of watching everything on the remote. Also the fact that it has built in wifi helps.
Prices seem to be online already for 40 inch tvs - around 1499 mark

Good choice mate! I too am holding off. Im going for the series 6 for my bedroom, which is also 3D ready for around the £850 mark. According to Very the Samsung UE40D6100 should be out within 5 weeks.

I think one of the big improvements could be Bluetooth connected glasses instead of IR - which some people have had problems with on the older TVs

Prices will drop by the summer, will probably be at a premium when they become available in April

Hi guys,

As I mentioned earlier, I cancelled my order of the C8000 and am now waiting to order the D8000. I found this website Robert Whyte and they are quoting me 1190 inclusive of 5 year warranty with guaranteed delivery in 2/52 from today. That sounds like a very reasonable price and I am quite tempted. has anyone ever used them before? What are they like? Anyone encountered their 5 year Warranty service?

Thanks for any help.
