Samsung's top of the range D8000 with its amazing thin bezel and touch screen remote with free Blu-Ray player and 2 extra pairs of glasses.

Seems a very good price all in considering the model below it (D7000) is £1122 from same place.

Most other places are about £1500 with no free stuff.

1172 for a 40 inch

That is totally ridiculous

Not for the spec, for what it has been selling for and when compared to other places!

good deal for the model, why cold?

May be, but I seriously doubt it! Last years big hitter (UE40C8000)

http://www.richersounds.com/search/Samsung%20UE40C8000

is £799.95!

Think it's so cold because it is a lot for a TV, not disputing that for a second. It's like saying Bugatti Veyron for £500,000 is way too much to spend on a car. Yes it is but it's a good price.

Also, probably going cold cos it's not a £200 Sainsburys special! Lol! Don't know why I bothered...

This is the Mercedes-Benz of TV's.

If you can find this model cheaper elsewhere, then vote cold. Not because you can get some incomparable 40" for £400.

Have some heat from me...hate when people vote cold purely based on the price per inch! Yes you can get a 40inch HD Ready TV from Tesco for £300 - £400, but its a completely different ball game. For THIS TV with the blu ray player and the 3d glasses, this is a good deal!

Fantastic price, this was the must have TV at the gadget show!!

Lenticular 3D tv's (without glasses like the screen on the nintendo DS) have a problem you have to be sat directly infront of them for them to work so I can't see this tv being redundant in the next 6 months.

Good call! The 3d performance isn't meant to be perfect but 2D is meant to be the nuts.

considering all the folks that are feeling ill with the 3DS and trying to return it, watching a 2hr 3D movie on a lenticular screen TV would have to be with 10 min intervals after 30mins of watching!!!

until they can get round people feeling ill when focussing on simulated depth, it wont work.
oh and how much will Horace's sony 3D READY set cost at Xmas?

unlike your TV, where the 3D is....oh wait, they **** it off in this review.
So 2D performance is impressive but sadly its handling of 3D content is not up to the standards we've come to expect. We loaded up the 3D Avatar disc and the image is beset by crosstalk, which makes the various layers seem blurred and makes objects hard to focus on.

As the camera moves through the layers of tree branches during the 'First Sortie' chapter, the leaves and creatures have a distinct ghostly outline, while the definition of the background flora is vague. It prevents you from getting immersed in the image in the same way as you do with one of Panasonic's plasmas, for example.

You can lessen the impact of this crosstalk slightly by fiddling with the depth settings in the Options menu, but it's never quite satisfactory. We also tried Monsters Vs Aliens, and if anything the problem is worse, particularly during the tricky Golden Gate Bridge sequence.

The set will also convert 2D content into 3D, but this also falls flat, so to speak. With most discs there's precious little evidence of added depth or layering. It provides one or two flashes of inspiration with scenes that lend themselves well to 3D, but apply it to TV programmes or DVD and it's a waste of time. We're sure this technology will get better with time but for now it just doesn't cut the mustard.

Voted hot from me mate. I wouldn't worry too much about the people that don't appreciate how good a tv and how good a deal this is. I posted a similar deal a couple of weeks ago which also got panned although noone could find a better deal. Secondly I will take any bet going that this tv and 3G kit will be £500 by Christmas. Good find and good deal

Dude, you dont know what you talking about! Last years model isnt even £500 so how do expect this tv to be half price by christmas. This is the high end Samsung!

Also the NX713 sucks! I returned mine as it was buzzing, picture quality wasnt all that great and has a stupid transmitter which you attach to the tv to enable 3d. And the 3d sucks too!
