Good find Op - looked at this some years back when it was around £600 mark. Ended up getting the 6900 but certainly couldn't fault the 6100 from what I saw from the in-store demos.

Thank you Dazz2000. I have reserved the one in Stoke.

You should be able to reserve to any store if there's stock within the network

I would recommend the h6400 for an extra £100. all the extra features make it worth while as well as five year warranty from JL or RS.

personally I wouldn't even consider getting a tv now if it doesn't come with a five year warranty.

The SOGA is a good piece of legislation which actually is very beneficial to the consumer. Many shops choose to turn a blind eye to it.

I kinda wish my current 7 year old philips 42" plasma would die so I could justify a new TV.

Yheap, anything above £200 for a telly I would be looking at 5 years Warranty. Bought a Panasonic Plasma few years ago from JL and one of it's fans failed after 3.5 years. Had it repaired and still in good shape.

My Sammy developed a fault last week, just been repaired. I was lucky it was just 4 months away from the 5 yr warranty running out.
Even though I'm upgrading now, without that warranty fix, I would have had to rush into getting a replacement and probably end up not getting a good deal.
I can take my time now.

A 5 yr warranty is a no brainer afaic.

Thank you Dazz2000. I have reserved the one in Stoke.

If you're not going to pick it up, I will happily do so. Let the reservation lapse and I'll snap it up.

Just got the 46" version of this model today in Asda for £399. Not many left. One in Barrow in Furness, i notice. Nice telly, just been watching Gravity 3D, & dead easy to set up. Attaching the tv to the plinth, after attaching the plinth to the X stand, was difficult, though. Aligning the screws was very frustrating.

tbh wish john lewis was doing this, i dont normally care about 5 year warranty but after 5 WEEKS my 50 inch finlux tv gave up. there a nightmare to deal with
