LED backlit TV's are a letdown IMHO. I'll be waiting until they fix some of the big problems before shelling out for one (auto dimming can't be turned off and is HORRID when screen goes from light to dark and vice versa, and input lag problems are also a big issue).

And don't confuse these 'LED' TV's, which are essentially standard LCD panels with an LED backlight, with the rather more impressive OLED panels that we will hopefully see on the highstreet for decent prices some time in the future.

I was under the impression that the panel on these TV's was made from LEDs rather than having an LED backlight.

EDIT: Was wrong about the panel, it just seems to be lit from the edge rather than the rear. Little bit of info about the lighting here for any body who's interested. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/televisions/0,39029474,49301581,00.htm

Sorry that link was to show more information on the lighting side rather than the model of TV.

Yet they STILL managed to include one of the major flaws of the 7 series (auto brightness too slow reacting, as I mentioned in my earlier post) -
