Been looking for a while at the price of the samsung led 3d tvs
and like the look of the 8000 range with its brushed steel surround and illuminated samsung logo
cheapest around and instock is at http://www.total digital.biz which is the internet sales of premier av centre in birmingham
SAMSUNG UE46C8000 £1479 PLUS £30 P&P AND £200 CASH BACK = £1309 (£2099 at currys)
SAMSUNG UE55C8000 £2099 PLUS £30 POSTAGE AND £200 CASH BACK = £1929 (£2799 currys)
these seem to be the cheapest i can find and have been looking for around 3 weeks, 1 to 3 day delivery
been getting 5 stars and great reviews
just had one delivered and it did come with a pair of 3d glasses in the box and a pair via redemption
maybe if you live local to birmingham you can collect for free

some website shops are putting their price with the £200 cash back so when you go to the checkout it adds £200

why the negitive and no comment
i take it you can you find cheaper ???

I've had my eyes on this too (the 55" one) and I was waiting until it gets cheaper than £2000 so interesting offer here.

I was suspicious at first as I never heard of the company (might be my ignorance!) and the link to the cashback form was to an unknown and seemingly dodgy web site. I found the cashback offer on Samsung web site here.

I'll have a look at Costco this weekend. They were selling this for just over £2000 so should be a good price with the £200 cashback. Also you get free 5 years guarantee from Costco on almost all TVs.

Thanks for the heads up, heat and rep added.

i phoned costco 2 weeks ago but wasnt doing the 8000 series
maybe they are now then
samsung are not giving the cashback for the 7000 series from costco (look at the cashback t&c) see #4
they 1st said they would but then changed the t&c's but honoured it if boughtbefor they changed it.
also the cashback is not eligble from tescos and pixmania
so be careful if purchasing from any of these stores, but dont know how you will stand regarding the 8000 series from costco, can get a 5 year warranty for both the 55" and 46" for £84.99 though

Hi, Id be interested to know your Costco trip results... The Coventry Branch had the UEC 7000 55" at £1650 inc VAT, the 46" at £1150.. + Cash Back... I think that cash back from Samsung specific to Costco purchases is restricted to 46" and 55"... the 40" model is excluded though....I'll try to find the post that clarifies this, but it was stated clearly in Costco.

Discussed here, click on the link in post # 134...

Unfair..!!! This week in Currys I learnt that the UE46C7000 range rely on fibre optics to produce the fantastic colours:p.......of course some staff are more knowledgeable than others, but I do wonder about the very basic training that some get.. 5 minutes with What HiFi for some would be a start for some? Slackrat77 excluded of course!!

i am th OP of this post
i ordered mine and turned up within 3 days so no probs here
this is why alot of people dont bother posting deals anymore
wasnt like this a few years ago.
as this one plays mkv, 3d mkv sbs (side by side), divx hd, straight from usb or hdd in both fat/fat32 and ntfs there is no need for a blu-ray player and no blu-rays to buy and comes 2 pairs of £60 active glasses (it obviosly plays avi's/divx, mp4, wmv etc.. with mp3/aac soundtracks, also think it supports dts soundtracks too)
this one after cashback is less than £200 more than the le46c750 lcd version
not going to get in a debate with sony fanboys and lg,
i posted this for people who were looking for one, it is still the cheapest ue46c8000 and ue655c8000 on the internet. isnt that what this site is about

When spending this sort of cash, i always opt for bigger sellers, it is all well and good saving a few quid, but what happens when you get a problem, this is an 'ok' deal as it is cheap, but there is more to a deal than just the initial price.

i normally do m8 but the difference between £1449 (which is what i paid last week) and john lewis which is £2099 allbeit with a 5 year warranty is hell of a difference, places like richer sounds and john lewis take into account the price of a 5 year guarentee when price matching anyway

after 28 days the warranty is with samsung so wasnt really an issue for me,

I went to Costco Watford this Sunday and as scoot rightly said, they only do the 7000 series :-(

It's a shame 'cause their TVs always include 5 years warrenty.

Thats not actually correct. The use of LED rather then CCFL backlight produces the "fantastic colours". Again this assumes the quality of the LED's used is such that they produce a larger and more consistant gamut when compared to CCFL backlighting. Theoretically the best backlighting technology would be RGB LED which requires no filters, followed by LED then CCFL.

The fibre optics/reflective panel are used to distribute the light produced by the LED's accross the screen and is used by all edge lit panels to my knowledge.
