First Post - I saw this in Currys in the MetroCentre, down to £599 from £999. Apparently the H refers to it being this years model?

I noticed that compared to my dad's £1200 LG beast, this Samsung was really quick navigating through iPlayer and the other menus. I found on the LG it took a while processing.

This looks like a brilliant deal, I found it online too so I've posted the URL on here.

I think TopCashBack do 2.02% also.

You measure screens diagonally.

The only issue is that it's active 3D. Passive is a lot easier to live with.

I think this is £449 in store at tesco

I find the active 3d much better. Passive leaves lots of lines and reduces the resolution loads.

It's a shame JL don't stock this

How does that matter? It's already been said it's the same money at Richer Sounds but with the additional 5 yr warranty free of charge.

JL won't beat that.

The SD picture quality is poor out of the box but after a few adjustments it looks as good as any other Led tv. HD quality is fantastic, The 6700 model is around £200 more expensive not really worth it in my opinion.

The reason for the price increase is because Samsung have been having manufacturing/distribution problems.. because theres such a high demand on the TVs, they simply couldn't make them fast enough, so they've had to increase their production... hence the price increase all round - as of 03/07/14.

Anyways.. I purchased this TV from Richer Sounds (because of the 5 year warranty) for £599. Initial thoughts.. looks wise it's not as thin as the Sony equivalent.. and there's a clear bevel going around the tv.. which doesn't really add much to its appearance, then there's the hideous spider stand which is in shiny chrome and very reflective.. (i'm going to vinyl wrap it in black ). Aside from all this, for the price I paid, with a 5 year warranty and the spec it has, its a very good deal.

Most equivalents around this price range have 100hz/200hz processing rates.. which is not good enough if you want to use your TV for things like watching football and playing console games. (Before this, I purchased the LG47la620v, 100hz rate and it was cr*p, slow, blurry and alot of lag, returned back within 2 days). This TV has 400hz and it does make the difference..football is not laggy/blurry and playing on my PS3 is very smooth and enjoyable.

One thing you have to remember is that you need to make some adjustments to get the best out of the TV... it's not at its best if you simply plug it in and put it on. One setting which is a must is 'LED clear motion'.. this HAS to be on. Without it, football/movies and console games are very laggy.. with it on, hell of a difference.

The TV's 'Football mode' has also been getting alot of bad press, but I think it's pretty good. The idea is to create a realsitic feeling that you're in the game, so the crowd noise is increased (as it is in a game), the colours are more vivid and the commentating goes a little lower (which if you're watching the world cup on itv is a god send!).

Overall, good TV if you're on a budget. Would recommend.
