Really think this kind of TV or OLED have more real usability as they make everything look great not just sparse 4K or HDR media

Imagine these will drop more in the next month or so as they just announced the Qled q7 models which are supposedly coming in February

£5.01 more for 5 year warranty here- http://www.prcdirect.co.uk/samsung-ue49ks7000-samsung-49-smart-suhd-4k-led-tv.html

What's the 'judder' like? I've been told the KS8000 has a better processor to ensure smooth playback of certain sources. I'm still tossing up between the 7000 & 8000. Hmmm.....

Shame the customer service from S/sung is sooooo bad. Seems as though the company is corrupt from the top in view of the possible pending arrest.

That's why you never deal with the manufacturer - always go back to the retailer!

I have this TV in my bedroom, it's fantastic! Blows our was-top-of-the-line F8000 in the living room out of the water!

I wouldnt bet on it, the 55" normally retails for around £1100.00 and it drops now and again to £899.99 (£849.99 if youre very lucky) as such its not back up to £1100 in most places so the drop is gogin to be around the £900 it is in sales etc.. so i expect the other sizes to follow suit..

you wont ever get this TV for much less, as they will discontinue it than make a loss.

This issue is supposed to be on both TV's

I have owned the 55KS7000 for 1 week now and I cannot see the judder at all? I had major soap opera effect but reducing motion and judder compensators sorted that out.

the Judder in my opinion is a non issue only affecting very few people, Ive used all sources from XB1s, PS4, Sky HD, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.. and never ever see it.

I paided twice this for mine 5 months ago. Brilliant TV, but would avoid it if you planned to wall mount it. The Connect One Mini box (or something like that) makes this a real pain. Also HDMI-ARC continually forgets it is selected, meaning the TV reverts to the internal speakers frequently.

If you just want to use it on a stand, the TV is awesome.

The connect box is what stopped me getting the 55" version. Such an oversight by Samsung. If only the cable was 2 meters longer.

Still tempted but probably missed the best deals now.

Good luck if they wind up, go bust, etc. Samsung also seem to blame misuse whenever possible e.g. water damage or impact rather than a defect. The retailer wont be the one repairing your item if the retailer doesn't agree to replace. I don't think it is wise to totally ignore poor manufacturer service. This retailer appears good though from Trust Pilot reviews.

I've had one of these for 2 weeks and I've only seen judder on interlaced content - eg NOW TV on the PS4 was disturbingly juddery unless I put it into Game Mode, then I changed the PS4 to force progressive video output to either 720p or 1080p, rather than 'Auto' while using that app and it was perfectly smooth even in Movie Mode.

As long as you don't have any inputs that will insist on sending interlaced content and can't be forced to be progressive, there are no downsides to this set, it makes everything from SD content to 4K HDR look fantastic (as long as you calibrate away the default settings that seem to be far to bright, blue and pink). It can show fantastic contrast between black bars and bright scenes even when displaying standard dynamic range, very little blooming.

This review is completely accurate http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/ue49ks7000-201610234374.htm

the connect box cable is sadly a custom cable and thus stupidly high prices for the 3m version.its a shame that it doen't use display port for the connector and use a separate power cable so that the cable is easily replaceable...

Yes they should. Currys doesn't seem to require they have a high street store. JL do, but these guys appear to have a store in London :)

Unless the TV board is 24hz capable it will have *slight* judder when watching movies that you may or may not notice from time to time. Obviously it's more noticeable the closer you sit to your TV and/or the larger the screen is. I had a TV with this feature and it was a small, rarely noticeable difference on vs off despite what some reviewers say.
KS7000 vs KS8000/9000 AFAIK the only real picture difference is a higher refresh rate. I think the effect of motion processing is passable at a low level but often it looks weird. I certainly wouldn't pay extra for it, but I may be in the minority as it's frequently a 'high end' feature. To me it's a marketing department finding a minor feature so people pay extra for the same TV.

Great response. It's funny that the difference between the TV's is a) really difficult to pin down b) when you do pin it down it's minor.

Samsung claim the 8000/9000 over the 7000 has darker blacks, better motion and better sound as well as "360 design"... you know, for all that time you spend looking at the back of it. However for the difference of between 400-450....seems a little steep to moi.

I had this tv for over a month now and can confirm its absolutely stunning, if you want expert advise then you can adjust picture setting using advise on avforum. Its worth every penny.
However I'd either buy from JL or R'S just for their reliable customer service
Bought mine from JL.

Agreed. I've just submitted a price match online with JL as they're currently selling it for £999! They may not go for it though as the offer clearly ends in 2 days :/
#30
I submitted one a couple of hours ago to JL. Finger crossed (especially now it has gone up to £999)

Watch Amazon Primes The Grand Tour, Namibia Special and HDR & 4k is stunning.

Can see this TV in month or so, been even cheaper than it is now...

That's why rule #1 in my book for anything like this is get JL to price match!

That said, the high end Samsungs have been quite reliable I think - our F8000 is coming up to 4 years old I think, and we haven't had a single issue with it.

I can only speak from experience, but IMO JL customer services is second to none.

Unless I can't avoid it, I wouldn't buy anything big and electrical from anywhere but John Lewis or Apple.

Personally would not buy from JL as has had worse customer experience ever. This was online, not in store though.

JL pricematched for me yesterday. Just purchased it online. Delivery on Monday. Can't wait!
