Why is this cold ? I paid £1449 before Black Friday for this with no blue ray player. Have some heat. The Tv is worth £1500. Mint

That 4K player £269 you could probably sell it for £200 so £1100 for this Tv !!!
#3
Anyone who buys this deal I will buy the player off them. £130 through Paypal. So £1170 for this tv

Yes mate perfect picture . Have you tried rtings website calibration settings?

http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks8000/settings

I tried them but but bright for me , not quiet right but every Tv is different

If not try these ones they are my current ones. All I changed was backlight to 9 instead of 5.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X71yX0FCVd4

These are avforums settings which are perfect for me.

Change it so all sources . Then on your game hdmi change to game mode but change colour to native instead of custom. This gave me class picture both movies and game. Only touch back light after that.

Colour space I think it's called to native only in game mode

You tested the 4K ? Use the Tv YouTube app and search 4K test. Unbelievable picture

much appreciated. Tried ratings.com etc avforums.uk etc.. found my own in the end... Found it confusing between Us and Uk model numbers! Played loads on YouTube app. Looking for a HDR sample to really blow me away. My son got a Xbox ONE S.. surprising some 4k blu rays came my way too!!!! Also tried netflix 4k for a month over Xmas to feed the urge!

What you didn't like the avforums ones? I prefer as close to 6500k , last 3 samsungs were all just about that so used to it. My PS4 looks perfect using those settings , it's not a PS4 pro. That avforums have HDR settings on as well. Grand tour on amazon looks perfect as well using those.

Think you are right with the confusion over model numbers the rtings link you provided i suspect is for the American KS8000 so that would be for our KS7000.

yeah grand tour does look good.. I'll have to have another go. Some sources do look stunning, others like football the grass looks too luminous!

I compared them in the shop next to each other and I couldn't see where the £1000 picture quality difference was. The blacks on this are class, it's hard to compare when the demo isn't the same on both sets. Samsungs demo looks far better than the space lg one to show blacks off.

I couldn't see the picture was better at all so saved the £1000 and bought this. The gap is even bigger now £ wise.

And if it's for gaming the Samsung 0.22ms is one of the best you can get on a tv
#16
Agreed. Have read some people don't use gaming mode but disable many of the add ons? I use it myself.

Rtings made it look like that but avforums didn't .

Us models start UN Euro models UE

But yes they shouldn't have used the numbers they did why can't they keep them the same each one is 1000 different .

Ks7000 uses the same panel so I would guess that the settings would be just about identical.

My last Tv was f9500 and I used f8000 settings which made it perfect. That's was hdtvtest but they stopped giving the settings out for free, if you contact them and PayPal them £20 they send you their calibration settings. So that's a possibility if you are stuck

All addons need disabled anyway they mess the full thing up especially clear view motion one soap opera effect is unwatchable

I use game mode and it gives a better picture than none game mode as long as colour space is set to native, looks washed out if it's set at the normal viewing one.

Agreed.. I've disabled most and use native. Appreciate the advice and chat. Now if anyone is still thinking about this tv.. get it its great and this is a brilliant deal. Don't listen to people voting cold... they see a £100 tesco own brand as a hot deal!
#20
I voted hot as it's the model I am looking at when does this deal end?
#21
Not sure but I would be quick. If you sell the player say £200 it makes this Tv a steal. If not you have just got a 4K player for just about nothing. I'm gutted I want that player. I paid £1449 with no player. I'm waiting for 4K home cinemas to come out to replace the one I have .
#22
Cold, not 3D :)

The 65 inch is £1899 for the tv and 4K player is that a good deal?

Because you could buy oled with that dollar and a touch more. Totally blows these away!

But it doesn't . Also if you buying an oled near this price you are buying an old low down model this is the current top Samsung. I compared them and there was very little picture difference between the 2 and that was a £2600 oled compared to this at £1550.

Do you own an oled?

Lol

I'm on my 4th Samsung 2 had 3D I used it once in 6 years. Not good at all and gives you a bad head after an hour. Anyone want my Samsung 3D glasses I have about 4 sets on a shelf in garage

I've reserved a ks7000 at John Lewis for £849, wondering if this is worth the extra money

hmmm got a 55ks7000 on back order at RS for £899 don't know whether to change it to this, as i was going to buy a player too. Next screen up in the range for not much more money.

The KS7000 should be £849 at RS.
Basically the KS8000 is £300 more (if you factor in the free £200 4K Blu ray player), which is probably difficult to justify based on performance. You do get 3 free 4K films (£60-£75), a much smaller stand footprint as the KS7000 has feet at either end (OK if you wall mount, but won't fit my cabinet) AND the build quality is better - the KS7000's back has a tendency to separate as the double sided sticky tape holding it together (I kid you not) heats up. Check out the reviews online - the difference in picture is minimal. The 49" KS8000 gets product of the year in WhatHifi magazine, but the 55" KS7000 is the best value TV you can get at the moment.

If you prefer better sound quality, better stand, better looking edge and probably slightly better picture for a few £100 more I would buy this one. Compare the speakers on the 2. Best speakers on a Samsung I have had yet.
