Why do they keep gold plating the HDMI cables? I want the remote control to be gold plated.

Heat added, if it wasn't curved I'd have pulled the trigger!

Only HDR ready not HDR 1000, but decent price. Hope they offer the same £100 off more expensive non curved ones. Heat added.

Linhang, John Lewis usually price match RGB with discount code and you'll get a 5 year warranty

Is there a particular reason that you're all so anti-curve? Genuinely interested to know before I pull the trigger on a new TV.

But it's £80 more expensive at the moment?

Heat added, nice find, the curved puts me off though. Does it distort the field of vision unless pretty straight on to the screen?

Have used RGB Direct before, albeit years ago, and for me they were brilliant. Best price and decent reliable service. Re this product, not sure about the curved model, but the ku6400 is awesome. Got mine a month ago from Very, using a new customer 10% code = £510.

read the cons in the article in above link. mainly Distortion and Reflection, view angles. etc.

Curve- not for me due to reason above---go view some in a showroom and you will see why...decent price

Absolutely bargain. Got 49 inch for same price a while back. Amazing TV.

I have this TV. I am very happy with it. The curve is gimmicky in the main but when you sit up close playing your PS4 it helps immersify in the gameplay.

Input lag seems reasonable, I was about to buy a Panasonic 750 which was 40 something and Digital Foundry were suggesting this was ok, but then I read the comments below the review.

There's only me going to use it so viewing angle shouldn't be an issue.

I think I'm in.

If you compare this to a hisense, then I can't take you seriously

Any idea what the input lag is in game mode?

Hisense is actually quite decent tech.

A friend of mine has curved and while I haven't really watched any tv on it, gaming is brilliant with the curve imo.

Curved/brand aside, would one opt for this or the Hisense M7000 ULED?

Both are 5yo warranty and price.

£44.99 del for me :(

Have a curved 55" Samsung in the living room, couldn't be happier. No distortion, Samsung make quality products (exploding battery Note phones aside!)

Heard good stuff about the Hisense, was looking at it and an LG, went with LG in the end but the Hisense supports 10 Bit using frame rate control.

Curved is just a gimmick used to trick consumers into thinking their current TVs are bad. Anyone who currently owns a flatscreen shouldn't be buying another until OLED becomes affordable.
#31
If you watch a lot of Standard Def channels then upscaling to a 4K panel doesnt look nice.
Upscaling an HD channel looks fine.
4K looks great obviously.
If your telly is dead and you have to buy a new one then go for a flat one. Ideally wait for a 10bit panel to get more affordable as 8bit cannot display the full colour range that comes with HDR.
If your budget dictates an 8 bit panel then you'll still enjoy it. It'll be an improvement over older models.

There used to be an excellent mock advert on youtube for curved tellys. Only one person in your family will enjoy the curved telly - the one who gets to sit directly in front of it! Anyone sat at the sides will think it sucks.

Not a fan of curved screens, most the white papers advise the optical benefit appears with over 70" TV's within 12ft....so unsure how a 55" would do. Not a bad price though...although having gold plated HDMI cables is like having gold plated KFC.

there is no distortion whatsoever. I have this same model and wish i had purchased it sooner as i was also put off with the curve. I would not go back to a standard flatscreen now. No matter where in the room you are you have a perfect view of the screen

Wow! Samsung's tech is getting really good if you have a perfect view of the screen from the side and rear!

Joking aside, great TV, great price. I love my Samsung 4k and there is little to no lag in game mode when attached to a PC.

It's available at PRCDirect which John Lewis will price match (I have it just deciding if I should pull trigger on order)

Ditto. I have this model and love it. The curve is as sexy as heck. Like said above, it's super immersive when gaming.

I have a samsung 65" curved and my mother in law has a LG 55" curve both with no distortion. I love mine it makes the distance scenes look so deep , eg looking down a tunnel looks like watching in 3d
Yes I paid a fortune for the gimmick when it came out and cant believe the price drops now but have never regretted it.

Really tempted by this but getting mixed messages on viewing angles. Will all the family be able to enjoy a good view when sitting on 2 sofas facing the TV around 3 metres away? Would appreciate feedback from anyone that has a 55" curved TV
