at this level of expense save a tad more (circa £200) and get the quantum dot versions for far superior 10 bit panels.

If you mean the KU6400 then I have this, with quantum dot, and it doesn't do proper 10 bit, it can read it, but it's only an 8 bit panel...

Sorry, I thought we were looking at 60" which would be £1,299 from Currys but the 65" would be £1,499.

Can't do anything but agree with you there, we are in the process of moving and the living room there is huge(touch wood everything goes through fine) so I been doing homework and keeping a very close eye on prices of 65 inch plus 4K sets: the quantum dot display is my nailed on choice.

All roads of my research keep leading back to the Samsung UE65KS8000 which ain't cheap thus I am holding fire till at least Black Friday, if not the new year, in the hope it will drop significantly before we actually set up home in our new abode.

im keeping a keen eye on the same set, no doubt with many others, for the black Friday deal ready to pull the trigger!

Mrs Loyal works for Waitrose so I am armed with a John Lewis partner card that gets us an extra 12% off on electricals with her mob which is nice and makes me all the more reluctant to weigh on anything over 1500 quid for that set.

If you happen to accidentally purchase a second set on a good offer with the partner card, you know where I am ;)

Sorry mate but they are way too strict for any of that, the days of partners taking advantage of it are long gone and it's strictly enforced for families only.

My life, they even pulled her about a pram she bought for the baby when her son and daughter in law had the little'un on the way last summer.

Hahaha no no I'm not one of them of them yet, that's her ex's 'joy' as me and her have only been together 6 years or so. Talking of which my two lads know they face certain death if they make me a grandfather before I reach 50 so give me a tad more time yet please.

I believe lots of staff have abused that perk to the max and even sold stuff for profit etc, which is also why they can't get partner discount online this Friday. You are still allowed to get your discount in store on Black Friday deals so we're going to go up Westfield bright n early rabble wrestling through the masses (_;)
