I don't like most of the new camcorders around as there's no viewfinder on them & you ned to look at the screen to see what your camera is pointed at in bright light it can be difficult to see the picture you can always turn the screen brightness up but sure this means that you shorten the life of the screen!

I bought one of these from Makro a while back. Its a very good video camera. Records directly onto SDHC and is very light.

Well worth the price. If I think on I will upload some video footage I have taken with it and post the link on here.

That would be really helpful. Thanks

it is a brillant price for this product

I have this and it a poor substitute compared to a DV Camcorder, what it does enable you to do, is upload footage onto the net without having to download then convert it onto your PC. It is good, but don't expect breathtaking quality footage. It is a convenient form of video and the battery life is amazing as there are no moving parts.

With the SD card prices so low, a worth while deal. If you want a HDD one then the JVC MG330 from currys at £130 after cashback is your best bet (assumming they are stil in stock)

does this record 1280x720p?

Don't you need a makro card to buy this? And dont you have to run a business to get a makro card?

I cant see this as a deal when it is a wholesale shop, their whole business premis is cheap products for resell purposes and probably less then 1% of HUKD'ers even have a makro card..

anyone can have a business account with the cash and carry style people , it just requires imagination when filling in forms.

Agree COLD deal - there should be a seperate forum for RESTRCTED deals like this!

I have a trade account with a PC distributer - do you expect me to publish their trade list?

Along with silly posts on one off clearance items from places like Sainsburys and Comet - it's about time the mods took action to remove these posts.

I still rate the mini dv camcorders as the best for memories and reliability
Not only is tape one of the most reliable storage mediums out there it is also great for archiving. Also plug your camcorder into your pc and burn to dvd if required

AGREED! I just picked up the Complete Black Adder for 14.99 from Sainsburys but I think the chances of anyone else getting one is pretty remote so I`ve not posted it!

Very well done to the OP for finding this deal at MACRO, i have access to a macro card and went in for a look around before xmas :?
I couldn't believe the prices in there, how traders make any profit on there stock is beyond me, I was unable to find one bargain in the whole place.

There are other names I would probably have chosen for a poster like that. They are all in the Oxford English Dictionary and much more appropriate to that type of person.

If you look at Besford's other posts, they are along similar lines. I agree some of the punctuation and grammar on here is awful, but one should not criticise it in open forward. Shame on you Besford you tw*t.

i used to work at makro and its not that difficult to get a card if you work for the council or BT etc, just get your line manager to send an authorised letter on headed paper and they should let you get a card, we always used to ring john smith up offering people card and anyone they worked with. agree with chodman it isnt that cheap really, and once you add the VAT on top(all prices in shop are shown without VAT added) it makes it even worse deal then again they do have some belting offers same as any other store.
#24
can you guy with this camera post up some video samples? Work have asked me to look into some small camcorders to record kids vandalising things at school and these seem ideal.

Whilst the second part of that sentence is completely correct (archiving, as it is one of the cheaper long term mediums / Gb), the first part is unfortunately untrue. Infact, the opposite is the case, tape is one of the must vulnerable medium to write / store to unless you are paying for enterprise class storage. HD / Flash based storage is the future, and like cameraphones will just take time to mature.

And regarding the "Not available to everyone" deals - so what? Whats next, a thread stating "This offer is instore only and there isnt one near me.... BURN HIM!" :x

Some people on this forum will have a Macro card or at least being savvy enough to gain access to one (Im sure everyone who bought a cheap academic copy of MSOFFICE / VISTA used their OWN ac.uk address and not someone elses, didnt they?;)), and they will apreciate this post so lay off

How many hours of video taking must you do to use up the screen life?

I prefer to use words that aren`t in the Oxford English Dictionary though

Who really gives a **** what way the guy presents himself online? is it going to have a bearing on the day to day running of your extremely sad existence? don't think so!

It's cretins like you who give the t'internet the bad name it is renowned for!

Net Nerd springs to mind.
