general question, the 15% is off selected items or everything?
#2
Sounds like a good deal for a good spec.

I would imagine it's far better then the only other washing machine equivalent you could get at this sort price - most likely by Servis.

Indesit Wixl123 £199 miles better machine...Loads reduced in Poole

I'm currrently suffering with a samsung (B1445), would not recommend at all! At 12 months, pump propeller came off. Samsung refused repairs under warranty when I got 2 years manufacturers warranty with them with the purchase. Didn't have a printer at the time of purchase so couldn't prove it. Currys (where it was purchased from also said it was 1 year warranty. Had replaced it myself. At 22 months, machine started jumping about on spin and stopping with an error code, luckily I had a letter through from mastercare asking me if I wanted to extend the 2 year warranty (!) Had proof, so called up samsung again. Long story short, some CS agents said I had 2 years most said no after 6 letters over 8 months they blamed my floor for it and said the error code was an error and would not repair! After 2 min looking online found it meant a heating element fault, again had to replace myself. Still using it 'till it dies at 800 spin, but very unhappy with it. Would never buy anything samsung again due to the poor quality and even poorer CS.

doesn't seem better when you compare specs. for a start it's only 1200 spin speed. I bought the Samsung to replace an Indesit which kept going wrong.

Sorry to hear that Shaz80. My Samsung Q1435V is on 2 - 3 times a day for the last 4 yrs and it has never missed a beat (Touch Wood!!!). Lovely machine, highly recommended.

You have various statutory rights against the supplier which you could rely on even if the washer is out of warranty You don't necessarily need a receipt either, just some way of proving when and where you bought it. Generally a washer would be expected to last for 5 years. If the washer is now 2 years old and needs repairs you could expect the supplier to pay 60% of the repair costs. Contact your local CAB or trading standards office for more info.

For info. Servis have gone bust, as I found up when I rung to find out where the part they ordered over three months ago was.

Looks like you can still buy their machines.

Should mention that Samsung machines come with a 2 year guarantee. Should help those with doubts.

Doesnt matter what make machine ive had a indesit washer dryer for 10 yrs and still like new and still going fantastic ,its down to your luck.

I'm voting hot, hot, hot

But i would like to add i went into B&Q today and the sticker does say £211, the handheld scanner says £189 but....... when i actually paid for it, it was going through for £160.65. So i bought the machine plus delivery for £180.65. Great bargain.

darn! Buba beat me to it:-D Needed a new machine quickly, Paid £160 odd for it too!!:-D

Thanks for the advice Auncun, just want this machine to die so I can get rid, its 2 y and 8 months now. I had no idea that they had to pay 60% of the cost. I did repairs myself after looking online on how to, but did take me ages to actually do it. Better than paying someone else £100+ each time. After several calls to customer services, they said that machine sold before June 2006 had 2 years, any sold after only came with 1 years warranty. Someone mentioned that this one comes with 2 years, but I would double check that to make sure if buying with that in consideration. The only good point with this machine is that is has all the good features (except cold fill only, but expected with all new machines now)

I bought the last one at my local B&Q today as our 4 yr old Hotpoint packed up this morning. I bought the last one (the one on display) and got it for £160.65 which I assumed had been reduced due to it having no box. Even for £189 is an excellent deal but for £160 it's scorching!

BTW it was still priced at £211 at another of our local B&Q stores.

Many thanks Booshmoon I've added heat and repped you for a great find!

I've checked the instructions and can confirm that these machines come with a 12 month warranty.

B&Q exeter have this washing machine up at £160 , showed £189 at checkout so they honoured it this morning. Just been back for another item and its still at £160. Now that is a bargain as its way over £300 at comet.
#27
Are B&Q really trying to sell this? The ticket price says £249, reduced to £211. I asked them to scan the machine and they said the price today is £189, and when I paid they charged £160! Why the secret pricing?.

If it lasts a couple of years for that price it must be a bargin, thanks very much for the heads up in this thread, we had seen this last weekend for £211 at another B&Q but thankfully did not buy.
#28
just been back to B & Q and got a £189 refund on my machine then went to another B & Q and got it for £160. Thanks buba2006.

Most, if not all, modern machine only have cold fill. Saves them using all the hot water I guess.

All washing machines in B&Q back to full price today, could not say if anyother offer to follow.
#32
Picked one of these up today - still packed in the box as old machine still working but on it's last legs.

Can anyone that has bought the Samsung give a quick review of it i.e is it a good machine?

Thanks.

Heat added - cheers OP.
