Excellent price for the dual core SU4100 model (normally £430) - note the weight is 1.4Kg not 2.5Kg as listed!

Battery life ?
banned#6
Hmmm... Only around 3 hours battery life.
"
The X120's only real weak spot is its battery life. Any ultra-portable stands or falls on how long it can be used away from the mains. Lasting for 1 hour and 36 minutes in Battery Eater's intensive Classic test and 3 hours and 38 minutes in the less demanding Reader's test, the X120 won't let you stray far from a power point."

Thats rubbish compared to the acer culv laptops

"In MobileMark 2007 tests, we saw exactly 240 mins life with the standard 4-cell battery, mirroring exactly Samsung's listed 4-hour specification." from pc advisor

the cpu benchmark is 3x the atom n270 most netbooks come with

i cant decide weather to get this or an atom with ion ?? mmm

keep the acer and get a discrete bt dongle, batt life on this is very bad

But I have an old NC10 6 battery, wondering if it will work with this?

seems finding a 6 cell battery for this is impossible which puts me off a bit

Great price,
if the battery lasts 4 hours like pc advisor found i think that's acceptable.

Don't buy, I have this and on power saving mode, I am lucky to get 2hr out of it. When compare to Acer's 8hr battery life I am really regretting getting this.

Wait til next year when the new rare earth battery comes online, they are suppose to last 50% longer and double the life span.

the poor battery life and poor video on board put me right off...

The Argos full price is £350 so this is a useful reduction. Despite the relatively short battery life, the larger screen, 3Gb ram and a cpu twice as powerful as the N270 atom make this really tempting. The review specs i've read, state that it should have HDMI connectivity and Intel GMA 4500M HD graphics. The argos offer doesnt mention either. It's a dealbreaker for me, so can anyone confirm one way or the other please?
#16
Does it having HDMI port?
Please update me if any one knows about it.
#17
It does have a HDMI port and it should have the 4500M HD card to power the HD screen (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/notebook-computers/thin-and-light/NP-X120-FA01UK/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=specification)

I was wondering cos sometimes these large retailers buy batches of product that have slightly different specs to regular items sold elsewhere. But ooooooh. It looks like it could be "Au revoir" to Sammy N130 and a big "Hello" to Sammy X120". I must stop looking at UKHD each day as it's costing me a bloody fortune.

Same here, developing a very severe case of "should buy one of them just in case" with almost everything listed on this site:|

Very pretty bit of kit and although most reviews pick up on negatives (all netbooks have problems) here's a fair review http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/4475/samsung-x120-laptop-netbook-review

I just wish I needed it! X)

Got this from amazon a few weeks back - brand new for £299, put on HUKD, now all sold out. Now back up to £332 So keep an eye out. Regarding the battery life - not an issue for me, I just needed one for the Mrs to take to Uni and back home. Most reviews say 2 hours - which is ok for me.
However, note this is a reasonably nice performing and good looking piece of kit. Kick's a** out of those useless netbooks which you would pay only £100 diff.
#25
Battery life kills it for me, but voted hot, good price for people who don't need8 hrs of battery

This is a serious piece of hardware within its price range

Whilst you all dwindle and dither, the number available on the site is dropping fast, my guess is it'll be sold out in a few hours.

BTW Ive already brought one for myself!!!

Dont know about me 'dwindling' (??) but i''ll hold my hand up to dithering. This is a good (but not great) deal but in terms of screen size, 13" is my sweet spot in terms of balance between portabilty and being pleasant to look at. I think i'll hang on until a similar specced deal comes along but with a slightly larger screen size and perhaps a better battery life. In any event, i get much more fun from the chase than from capturing the quarry.

As ever, 'can i do better?' depends on your requirements. Plenty of deals about for 'traditional'15.6" and 17" dual core/single core processor lappies for the general stuff. But if you want a highly portable, relatively powerful machine that's several steps up from your bog standard netbook and will also display HD and output HDMI to your tele with aplomb (720p anyway), then this is your baby. Only achilles heel appears to be battery life. If that's not important and you're happy with an 11.6" screen, then go for it.

OMG! Just spotted that the deal is relisted with 'more than 10 available'. Also got some Samsung N130 Windows XP netbooks in black or white at £149.99 + £3.99 p&p.
