I was looking for a laser printer for my brother and found this for £39.99, I know there has been a few deals on laser printers recently but I've missed them. Everywhere else seems to be more expensive for this model, I thought it was a really good price so I'm sharing it here :)

Another reason it's a great price is you can get third party toners which are quite cheap £15-£20 for a 1000 page yield.

Does it have to be a laser printer? Otherwise this is a good one for the price. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-envy-4520-one-wireless-inkjet-printer-with-3-month-instant-ink-29-99-currys-please-2627509?/

Thanks, yes laser only. Inkjets are just so poor with nozzles blocking etc. Thanks for the link though

Seems like a typical price for this model although the good thing is that it's free delivery. Available at John Lewis with 2 year warranty for an extra £3.50. I really need a wireless one though.

Excellent printer. Ours sits in a cold back bedroom for months on end then boots and prints within seconds. Do the same with ink jets and they spend 5 minutes chuntering and use up half your ink trying to clear the heads.

Also quality is very good even with very cheap third party toner cartridges.

Samsung does a similar model with wifi. I have one, the M2022W. It is a fabulous printer; the starter toner is still going, nearly 18months now (average printing for school kids). Third party toners around £11. Do a search, there may be an updated version. It is well worth it.

John Lewis have it at £79.99 currently, if it goes on offer I may well snap one up. The other option is a wireless print server (or roll your own with something like a Raspberry Pi / Google Cloud print and Air print).
The just released new Zero has built in wifi and bluetooth...

Or put a wired only printer onto the usb socket of your router if it has one.

I'd get a Brother for your brother

Have had this for almost a year now. Just run out of the original ink. Works well and no issues so far. Very light user. Major advantage is that you do not hit upon the ink drying issues that is normally associated with low use on an ink jet.

Anyone know anywhere good for the cartridges for this? Think i have the same/similar model, and it's a great printer but last cartridge i bought was about £25.

Forget about duplex?

Printerland have the Lexmark ms312DN for £60. To cover the extra cost, you would need to duplex around 4000 sheets (at £2.50/500 sheet pack). At that print volume, you probably should be thinking about a heavier duty printer.

you can't really get a wireless model in this price range, you need to pay £60 upwards and for added auto duplex printing you are probably looking at £80 upwards.

that being said a laser is worth every single penny and the way to go.
never buy those awful inkjets.

some laser brands like Brother has very cheap replacement toners whereas some brands like Samsung are more difficult to find compatible toners and you have to buy the original toners.

I am looking for a small printer like this but it needs to be wireless and have duplex, any suggestions?

Office Outlet (old Staples store) have a Brother HL-L2340DW for £62.99 in store, and there is a promotion of 15% off over £50 spend, or something like that.

It's about twice the size of this model though as it includes integrated paper tray. No idea if a good printer, and total cost of ownership when factor in replacement toner.

that's an inkjet printer not laser.so very different.
I wouldn't use an inkjet again even if they pay me.
buy it only if you want to print photos.
otherwise for printing texts laser printer is a no brainer.

is this a nationwide deal or was store specific?
when did you see this price? it seems like a bargain at £62.99 and if they do 15% off then it's fantastic.

I saw it on Tuesday in Shrewsbury Office Outlet (former Staples store). There is also a deal posted on here mentioning another store. Depends if your local Staples has been rebranded to Office Outlet I guess and they stocked laser printers before hand, so might of had this model.

thanks buddy,I'm in London so will try a few of those stores, although not very optimistic, but if I can get it for £63 it will be a real bargain.I think this is the one of the best,if not the best mono laser printers out there,as it has everything, duplex, wifi and the very important internal paper tray.
I really hate it when paper tray sticks out with models from samsung and others,it's a little fraud like when they don't mention that in their size description.lol

The Samsung Xpress M2026 is £34.99. Think 50% off promotion is valid until Thursday according to a radio advert I heard.
