Got the 16gb version of this for the same price from play in march.
*edit * here's the thread about it

No way was it at the Orignal price ; even the 16gb 1 is well below that!

I had the 16gb and it's a great player - I used it for video a lot when I was in hospital earlier this year. We chose this one because we wanted a bluetooth player that would sync with the parrot in our car. Unfortunately my dog got hold of it recently and it doesn't hold up well to chewing, even with the strong metal case!

This isn't the best deal though although it may be cheapest at the moment. We paid about £90 for the 16gb back in January, but there have been better deals than that.

And this supports BBC iPlayer as well - great little media player.

There's a review of it here: -

It sounds great, especially at this price. I might buy one and save it to give to my mum for Christmas.

looks good!"

I also bought the 16gb from Play for £ 60 a couple of months back. Great player but even with the latest firmware, the battery life is shocking !

And me
Great little player and never seen it cheaper.

There is a reason why this is so cheap, as Rankone99 pointed out the battery life is abysmal.

Yeah agree with that, it's a great player but the battery life is shocking.

Did the latest firmware improve it at all?
#12
I also have the 16gb one.

I dont think the battery life is that bad !

Screen not great in sunlight but for the money its a cracking wee player.
#13
I've had one for a few years and it's very good for the price.

Would agree with Tomb it's a nightnare trying to scroll through the screen in the sunlight.

Bought the samsung a few months ago, excellent - especially the 16gb model! No problems with the battery life I find. Bear in mind the size of the unit you cant expect the battery life to be very long! However, 3 - 4 hours video playback is what I get! Paid £60 from Play for the 16gb model - well worth it!

Considering this DAP has been released less than a year I find your statement quite odd :?

I've had the 16GB version of this player for a few months, so here are my two cents, for what they're worth:

Sound quality: Superb. So much so that it's replaced my Sony NWZ-A818 as my primary player. The "clarity" slider in the equaliser menu is brilliant, IMO.

Video quality: The screen is sharp and (just about) big enough to watch a whole movie on comfortably. There also no need to transcode your xvid files as this player will support them natively.

Battery life: Ah, the Achilles' heel! It is very poor and only made slightly better by the latest firmware. But IMO, I think it's worth putting up with.

In short, highly recommended!

I was just about to ask about battery life, but reading through the thread.... No need.

Can't be as bad as the ipod touch tough... Can it?!?

Sorry ! Can't say as I downloaded the new firmware from the Samsung Korea support site after I fully charged the unit.

I use it for 5 x 30 minutes periods to play music at lunch during the week plus 2 hrs max afterwork a week during overtime. 5 1/2 hrs on'and'off and its out of juice .

Battery life aside it is a great little players

i got the 16gb version and have no problems with battery life after updating to firmware 3.06. last me at least 12hrs playing music and is still at 26%

Presumably this is with the equalizer (DNSe) turned off? I don't get anywhere near 12 hours. But like I said before, I don't mind because it sounds freakin' awesome. :)
