Why is it called an Android SDXC card? Surely the OS has nothing to do with this and can be used in anything that supports SDCX?

There just branded as 'ideal' for android, will work in anything. Although beware most phones don't support above 64gb cards

Just about to post it myself. Been looking for a 128GB micro sdxc card for a couple of months and this is the cheapest by £20 or more. Combine this with the fact that mymemory.co.uk is a reputable retailer and there's nothing not to like. HOT

Oh, and don't forget 3% quidco.

To add value, they are plugging the sandisk android app for use with this card:

Easily Back Up Your Favorite Media with the SanDisk Memory Zone App
The SanDisk Memory Zone app, available on the Google Play store, makes it easy to view, access, and back up all of your files from your phone’s memory in one convenient place. You can set the app to off-load files from your device's internal memory to your memory card automatically.**

As previously stated, it can also be used with compatible non-android devices

Looking to buy this for a present and was wondering if anyone could help... Would this be OK for a GoPro Hero 3 (Black) or would I need an extreme as opposed to class 10?

I am beginning to wonder if I should go back to Apple following the Android kit-kat upgrade, which effectively makes the SD card useless (well it does in my Galaxy Tab 3 8 tablet anyway).

Does anyone know if the kit-kat upgrade can be reversed?

Good price, if this will work for you.Voted hot.

You can't reverse it officially but it's quite easy to reflash the device with an earlier version of the ROM. Just have a look on XDA forums as sure there will be one available there plus instructions of how to do it.

Got this for my LG G Pad and works perfectly, 119GB available. Loaded it up with about 35 HD movies and still got about 60GB available.

Wow! Didnt even know they had gone up to 128GB. 64Gb was the biggest you could get when I last bought one and I was wondering if they'd reached their limit.

I want one now.

Funnily enough this question did work better when typed into a search engine.

I'm bored at work today, so i've done some research. I understand your confusion as there is a lot of conflicting info out there. Firstly, the official GoPro website used to recommend the Ultra range as suitable for the Hero 3 (Black) but does not do so any longer. This is because it may not be able to consistently handle the more demanding video modes. However, it also says that With the camera software update released July 29, 2013, using other microSD cards with your HERO3: Black Edition camera while shooting in 4K, 2.7K and Protune video modes may result in a reduction of the data stream rate from 45Mb/sec to 35Mb/sec.. That implies that the camera would continue to record but step down the quality.

I conclude that it would be a risk to get this card - albeit not a major one. Personally, if i owned a GoPro Hero 3, i wouldn't take any chances and go for a 64GB Extreme or one of the alternative recommended cards for this model listed on their website. Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for your input - I wasn't expecting such a thorough response. As you say, there's a lot of conflicting reports on what will/won't work. I think I'll take your advice and fork out a for the extreme version to play it safe. Cheers once again.

Better to make a list of specific phones you are interested in, and then do a search. I know theNokia Lumia 1520 works fine with the 128 Sandisk card.

No, it's not, but then it is from February, and the Z2 was launched in May. There are others too that aren't on the list, but it's pretty comprehensive and a good starting point.

Would you like me to Google that for you? Sad git that I am, I actually have. The answer is YES (post #19 refers)

What would this be like on a macbook air as a secondary hard drive. More convenient than the usb 3 hard drive but are the read / write speeds practical?

What are you going to be using it for? If you need extra space for your iTunes folder or iPhoto/iMovie Libraries then this is perfect. Use it in a Nifty Minidrive which sits flush in the MBA SD card slot and you won't even know it is there...

If memory serves 2TB is the theoretical limit of microSDXC

Any one know wherether the fortchcoming Ultra Plus is worth waiting for? Is 40Mb/s over 30Mb/s transfer speed for the Ultra going to make a practical difference?
