Good price, but seeing that people criticised me yesterday for my post of a 16gb at the same price (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/16gb-usb-2-0-memory-stick-11-99-del/820431), I should point out that this is slower - an amazon reviewer gave these stats on the speed

Write 4.65mbps / Read 15.69mbps

In fairness though, I've given you heat and keep posting, 'cause this is a good deal, it's just some people get very picky!

Just added price to the title. Nice one

not a bad deal at all, have some flames!
#6
very good price for the capacity. good enough for storing documents. perfect for students
#7
Toasty! 8)

i had one of these, they work fine, but are very flimsy, be careful if placed on a key ring or similar, as they may not stand up to that !!!
#9
I never knew my opinion was so highly prized around here - I just gave it some heat & it jumped 139 degrees X)

Put this on your key ring

Pop it in your pocket

Loop bit you attach it with likely to snap within a few weeks (which the 2 I've bought have both done)

POOR DESIGN

Whether an item is any good has a fair bit to do with if it's a good deal don't you think?

Although it's not the most relevant comment, i have to admit.

I must agree with the above a good deal is not just about price if the item is going to break quickly it could be a fiver and still be a duff deal.I've ordered one so I guess I'll find out.

These are perfect for boosting the disk space of an XBOX 360. I have one in my 20GB 360 and it works like a charm.
#16
I too agree on voting should be about the overall package, ok price is the key but if the product is not well built etc it's not a good deal if you have to then buy another one in a month or so and the loss of your data.

I can not comment on quality as I don't own one but on the face of it seems a good price if you just keep if for document storage may be a few pics/mp3's ideal for students or just transferring files from one PC to another an not kept on your keyring for instance.

I think voting on overall package is OK, I would want to know if a product I was going to buy was likely to fall apart or not! HOWEVER: I have an 8GB version of this and I certainly wouldn't say it is flimsy. Its small design, perfect for keyring etc, actually very well built.

Also, agree that its great for boosting Xbox capacity, got a 32GB Sandisk ultra back-up in mine, works a charm.

Very HOT price, cheapest I can find, better then Play or Amazon.

I've had the 8GB version of this drive on my keys for the past 8 months and it's fine. It gets knocked about quite a bit and it's still in good nick. It is slow but that's not really an issue for me as I set files copying then leave it.
#19
Amazon had it for a quid less a few weeks ago.
#20
Don't forget Quidco for 3%!
#21
****, paid £14.29 for it a week ago at Dixons :(
#22
ITS CHEAP, SLOW & NASTY

I agree that it looks cooler than other sticks out there, but if the attachment is going to snap off in your pocket the minute it gets tangled between your keys and your leg, what's the point??

Thats just silly - if the loop snaps and you lose the stick after a couple of weeks then it is a bad deal as
a.) you have to buy a new stick and b.) god knows what data you may have lost. c.) who knows who might get their hands on your data.

I have 10 bags of rubbish you can have for 1p, its a load of junk but as its only a penny its a bargain, where else can you get 10 bin bags for 1p? you could even empty them into your bin and re-use the bags.

Quality is a big factor if these are designed to go on a keyring then snap off losing the drive and potentially files then any price is a poor deal.
#38
Got mine from amazon, i wasn't impressed with the speed.
#39
Thanks ordered one :)

Quality is subjective and has nothing to do with a deal’s single parameter of measurement, which is that of objective value offered purely in terms of price now compared with price back then, or price here compared with price elsewhere.

Otherwise people will start voting purely because they don’t like the object, or it doesn’t match their wallpaper, or they don’t have a use for that object, or they’d prefer a different object to that in the subject line. All of those incidentals are worth mentioning perhaps (or perhaps not, really) merely as opinions, but shouldn’t also have a quantifiable measurable vote attached to it.

I suppose many people, because they see things on their own computer monitor, fall into the perception that all communication they witness is destined specifically for them, and therefore they feel as though they have to stick their oar in and answer absolutely everything, even when they can’t, shouldn’t and are blatantly unqualified to do by virtue of ignorance of the matter in hand.

Anyway, my Amazon cheaper-than-this deal 16GB blade has been in operation for more than a week. Good points. It's big. Also, it's small. Bad points. It's small, and I thought I lost it the other day because I put it down and it ended up in my bag. Also, it’s big, so if it gets lost, that’s a lot lost at once. But it’s much faster, perceptually, than my 8GB cruzer pushey-pokey-outey one, which by comparison is much bigger, and a lot smaller. I disagree with the fragility accusations, mainly because I’m not some clumsy oaf and I look after my stuff. I keep it in that funny little tiny mini-pocket on the right front side above my jeans pocket, or on the shelf of my desk when I’m in. It hasn’t spontaneously dismantled itself thus far — certainly not on the shelf. I think I might try it with an Ubuntu 10.10 install on it (which I already have on my stonKing Kingston 8GB blue pushy-pokey-outey one obtained at a very favourable price from the O2 shop over a year or two ago).
