for me, amazon usually is faster, but you can get quidco from play

just checked - quidco = 0.5% ; hardly worth it

What's the difference between a 2009 model, and any other year?
Also, it is a good price, but isn't it commonly around this price? Esp. at Play, as posted above.

And Amazon are better for returns. I've been waiting 6 weeks for a refund from Play.com for an item.

Hi, I have the 8gb Cruzer...very good - the U3 is a bit annoying, but you can remove it - or even better just re-format the CDFS partition with your own ISO file (So you can run what you like)

Very good drives - durability could be improved (But for that you want the titanium version)

Wouldn't buy a 16 even at this price - going to wait until a cheap version of the 32 comes up.

Saying that, I don't think I'd ever buy anything other than a Sandisk Cruzer ever again.

i'd lik a stick but looking at prices atm is it worth waiting a lil for 32gb to be ~ £1 per 1gb?
#15
Nice article here explaining how to remove the U3 if you just want to use this for storage (as I personally would) - http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2550

Bought one of these from Play and also have the previous model.

No reliability problems with the previous versions so whether 2007 version is more reliable can't say.

2007 version is slightly thicker than previous version which was slightly more streamlined (couple of mm so unlikely to notice).

Only complaint about 2007 model is doesn't come supplied with an attachment ring so you can slip it onto a key chain, just an inset bar. The bar is so close to the case fitting your own ring is a nightmare!

I reused the previous model as a cache drive (exact term escapes me) on my Windows 7 Dell laptop I'd bought.

The price drops seem to have slowed right down now. There was a period when every 6 months you could get double storage for your money but it seems like the current prices have been as they are for an age.

I find play.com much better for returns. My senheisser earphones stopped working so i sent them back to play with a note and they did not only refund the cost very quickly, they gave me money for postage as well (more than I even paid I think). The reason the earphones broke was probably me just not taking care of them well enough anyway. Also they replaced my ps3 controller because the triangle button was a bit knackered.

Probably at some point, I remember paying about £28 for a 128mb drive :w00t:

Just so you know I'll repost the speeds on these drives.

Indigo starfish is the prefered merchant and just seems to be amazons way of using the channel islands tax dodge. I waited a long time one for some sd cards that were in stock but have had a lot of other stuff of them quite reliably.

Just ordered one of these off play though.

I've just tested the 16GB and 32GB versions
16GB comes in with (same test as hmsq82)
Seq - 26.13 - 13.50
512k - 26.08 - 4.890
4k - 6.283 - 0.011

32GB comes in with
Seq - 23.82 - 11.41
512k - 23.92 - 3.757
4k - 5.726 - 0.009

These are quite poor for Sandisk, my Dane Elec 16GB is faster than these (Read 512k = 38.47)
Not the best, but definantely not the worst (I have a 1GB byte stor too).
