Hot deal, but it's Sandisk not Scandisk, makes it sound like some cheap knock off! I would amend your titles.

Mod edit: Title sorted ;-)

They've been selling the same flash drive at Play.com at the same price for a while now and the Play deal has been posted several times on this site, for example:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/613160/sandisk-cruzer-16gb-usb-flash-drive

Amazon were actually selling it 30p cheaper 2 days ago:

It's still a decent price however, nothing particularly new. Also, I've never seen the RRP at £43.31, even Play lists the RRP as £29.99 but I guess if that's what Amazon says then there's probably some truth to it :)

Just a small note, be wary that the drive is fairly slow (even if this never version of the Cruzer is meant to be faster than the previous revision) which is probably why it's so cheap in comparison to other 16gb flash drives, even to Sandisk's own.

This is no longer a hot deal for this item. plz no one repost untill it drops below £15

RRP`s are a load of rubbish and should be totally ignored.
Just shop around to see who sells it the cheapest and ignore the RRP.

I bought one of these for the same price from play recently.
Great price for a 16GB drive but as Crackerbear says, it's quite slow.

Thanks you all for the replies!
I will have to think it over if it is slow.

Ha ha, when was it £43.31? About 5 years ago? I got the titanium version for less than that. A lot less.

Useful for next week's xbox 360 update!

Slightly off topic but any recommendations for a similar drive but a bit speedier?

This is taking over from Shawshank and the Inbetweeners!

Not cheap, bought it for less than this before Christmas.

£1 per gb is about the going rate, but you'd expect it to be slightly less than that when you reach this size.

Bought one last week from play , it was about the same price. Its ok reading from it, but the speed is bad when writing to it, so if you are going to be using it to move large files around i.e 8gb + then i would go for a speedier drive.

Bought one of these ages ago when it was about £16 (£1-gb at this size was a great deal).

I just wish the 32gb sticks would start to get down to a realistic price (which should see the rest fall to better price-points too).
Speeds need to go for the bigger sizes......but that is what is promised by their 'roadmap' (up to 2tb sizes and 400mbps).

Bought my dad one from play the other week for £16.69 from play with a voucher.

£17.79 at play with cashback

They also have a PNY 16gb one for 50p less

Be interested to see how they stack up against each other regarding real-world speeds.
The PNY claims a rather unspectacular r/w of 12/5 MB - which is worse than the real-world values reported for the Cruzer!

The realworld write for me is about 4MB/s with this one, my Toshiba 16GB mini is around 12MBs, brought for the same price as this. Although the Toshiba said it was 4.5MB/s.

I remember paying more than this for a 256MB drive not so long ago!
