This sort of drive is perfect for installing/running an OS off a stick. Only issue might be heat buildup.

Whether Windows thinks it is a flash drive or a hard drive is another issue. (If you want it to use Windows 2 Go without messing around too much).
Yeah, I always install OS off a stick at work, saves me hours of watching progress bars.
You can use the Windows 7 USB tool from Microsoft, you can use a variety of tools to make a linux installer, and if you want to experiment a bit you use something like YUMI to create a stick with multiple OS on it.
Windows in your pocket
Linux on USB
YUMI Multiboot
My current companion is a 64gig USB3 stick with five OS installers, three Live environments as well as some recovery tools. If you used a crappy stick from amazon for that it would take five minutes to boot an OS, using a proper 30MB/sec+ stick like this it feels like using a slow SSD, get it on USB3 and it's quicker than a cheap desktop HDD.

awesome price
Voted hot.
Happy days, what a pen drive soooo fast.
Well worth it.
Reading from it is even faster to copy into a SSD sata 3 drive is so quick that I barely had a chance to click in the "more details" option whilst copying a 1.3gb file it was showing around 441MB/sec with the boost and about 200MB/sec without the boost.
I have no idea how ASUS is boosting this flash drive but is a hell of a boost.
