No cap on the end to lose and the software is decent too.

I have the 2gb version and it's very good, i use it to transfer films and some files from time to time, so i haven't taken full advantage of it.

Thanks ray :)

Thanks ray, these are great, I have the 2GB version myself.
I'd say these will go further down in price soon, so if you're not in a hurry buy later @ at a cheaper price.

Voted hot - great price nonetheless, although my 256MB and 128MB USB sticks do for me as it is anyway :)
#7
great price ray never used one of the cruzer models will see how it is,

I've also got the 2gb version and it's great. If someone buys/has the 4gb version then let us know if it works with XBMC.

Yeah, i second that request. Been lookin for a cheap 4gb memory stick for xbmc for a while now and if this works then i'll snap it up in a second...

Why not buy a standard USB Drive and install the free software from http://portableapps.com/ I found the software better than U3 (have ativa usb drive).
#11
i have one of these and could not get the u3 software to work on vista, so ended up formatting it and using it as a standard usb key.

just something to keep in mind if your running vista.
#12
U3 Software is nasty, won't work with Vista.

Reformat and use like a normal one.

Also after much checking, for those out there that are wondering, these are said to be Vista readyboost compatible! supposedly with 5MB/sec throughput for 4K random reads and 3MB/sec throughput for 512K random writes, almost double the minimum speeds required. I've ordered myself one and will update to confirm this when it arrives.

Don't forget... if you have paid the higher price with Amazon, they'll refund the difference...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/contact-us/returns-and-refunds.html

Amazon are offering this for £22.49 (from Amazon... not one of the other sellers)... so you should be ableto get a £2.51 refund :)

A U3 stick can have programs installed on it and can be password protected.

This means that if your office doesn't allow you to install software :x, then you can simply install it on the U3 drive and run it from there - and it is almost impossible to detect . I do this to allow me to use VLC which allows me to watch region-free DVDs on my laptop. I also use OpenOffice on there, plus image fixing programs (so that I can resize images from the Web), games, etc.

Because it can be password-protected, you can put documents on there, or a contact manager (with all your work/personal addresses, phone numbers etc) and you don't need to sweat if your U3 stick gets lost/stolen :-D. I think that gives U3 a big plus over a normal stick/USB key/Pen drive.

What does work with Vista ?

I'd steer clear of Vista until it's well established.
