Just bought a PSP and was looking for a cheap 4GB MS Pro Duo - this seems to be the cheapest by far on a 4GB stick. Great price IMO. Read More

#3

Thanks was just looking for one of these this afternoon for a PSP & they were around £15 elsewhere - off to order now :)

not bad but for those who are using m2 cards the speed is lower than pro duo cards which may explain the cost. I think im going to buy from play.com as they are selling mark2 sony cards for £14. Or if you hate loading times they also have the HGX series for £17

you can get an 8GB class 6 micro sd for £10.99 and a micro sd to pro duo adaptor for a couple of quid. Still a good deal!

I was going to say exactly the same thing! I got two 8Gb microSD cards and and adaptor, and it works fine. I've never had speed issues with anything on the card. I seem to remember the whole setup was a few pence over twenty pounds, although current mymemory prices have it at more like £25.

So the deal might be good for a genuine ms pro duo card, but there are cheaper solutions available for the PSP.

Cold for me, just bought an 8GB on ebay (but new) for 15.99 and is Mark2.

Not sure what's the rule on ebay here but it's from a shop at fixed price and they sell in quantity.

Does that setup work for game saves too or do you need magic gate certified cards for that
just bought a PSP as a pressi for young cousin.

get a Micro SD to Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter and stick a couple of 8Gb micro SD in there and you get a 16Gb memory for your psp for 25£

9£ on amazon but they gor for under 4£ on ebay, same make. Just make sure your Micro SD are branded. I got mine from Play.com

you only need magic gate for instaling firmware. otherwise it is same as original pro duo

if you hate loading times install a custom firmware and overlock your cpu. it works wonders. it also stops lagging in games like vice city stories

Paid £8.93 for this at Amazon only a few months back.

i think it really depends on the quality fo the card itself - my m2 card (with pro duo adapter) is faster than my older pro duo scandisk

for value i would consider using micro SD cards (class 4 or higher) and a micro SD -> pro duo adapter

Excellent thanks for that

Yes its probably a good point godsakes that the quality does make a difference but the mark2 have read speeds of up to 15mb/s and HGX can read up to 20mb/s making them faster than m2 cards. Although i think the difference in speed will probably negate too just a few seconds difference. As for custom firmware. Well i have a psp 3000 and increasing the CPU clock uses up more power meaning less playing time.

I just got me an 8gb for £12.45 including delivery off ebay. Still cheaper then shops though as they're £15 for a 2gb
