class 2 is too slow, is there any 4gb class 4/6 Micro SDHC?
#15
Wow these are getting bigger and bigger - we paid £12 last yr for a 1GB one

Can you even get a normal 4GB SD card for £7?
#16
This will work out cheaper if your not buying anything else from Amazon:

whats all the class bit about?
banned#19
Hot deal to be honest with you, 4gb is loads of memory for the average person, that too if you use it in a mobile. But the only reason im refraining is because of the class. Id rather pay a few quid more and get a class 4 or something. This class issue shoulnt really be an issue for most, im just being fussy because im thinking about the timings when it comes to transferring movies.

Hot deal though!

SDHC technology comes in classes. Theres class 2, 4, 6 etc. These classes determine their write speeds. Class 2 would give u a write speed of 2 MB/s, 4 would give u 4 MB/s and class 6 would give you 6 MB/s respectively.

You can find out more about it on the following link, towards the bottom:

Thanks! Will wait for Class 4 one.

Thanks for the info, do you know if the read speeds are also improved in the higher classes?

Yes?? Am I missing something?

Maybe

1. 1,000,000 bytes (10002, 106): This is the definition recommended by the International System of Units (SI) and the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC. This definition is used in networking contexts and most storage media, particularly hard drives, Flash-based storage, and DVDs, and is also consistent with the other uses of the SI prefix in computing, such as CPU clock speeds or measures of performance.
2. 1,048,576 bytes (10242, 220): This definition is most commonly used in reference to computer memory, but most software that display file size or drive capacity, including file managers also use this definition. See Consumer confusion (in the "gigabyte" article).
3. 1,024,000 bytes (1000×1024): This is used to describe the formatted capacity of USB flash drives and the "1.44 MB" 3.5 inch HD floppy disk, which actually has a 1,440 KiB capacity, that is, 1,440×1,024 bytes, or 1,474,560 bytes.

Most people who are familiar with computing memory will consider the 1,048,576 bytes definition as the most accurate which when you by storage cards makes you feel like you've been short changed, also your PC will report the card as smaller than the stated size, even before formating :D

Yes, I'm familiar with the above. I was simply wondering why Darkteckno said "mmmm"... kind of thoughtfully

They are supposed to be yes. But these speeds can vary from the write speeds. The following link should be an interesting read, or some of the links off of it.

I have already searched on google for your info.

There are reports of people using 8gb cards.

However, I wanted to know whether or not the sdhc could be used in the viewty.

Thanks for nothing.
