The transfer speeds are not as high as the above is class 4 - OP is a class 6 item meaning less of a delay between pics etc... whilst writing to the card.

Play do have class 6 version, but not yet available....

It dosent matter in most cameras anyway the difference is negliable , in a SLR it would make a difference but not in joe blogs regular camera

Just gone for this - £15 delivered is a stonking deal !

To all those mentioning other cards, none of them are anywhere near as quick as this one - think about that when you're waiting eons for your pictures to transfer from your camera to your PC. The speed of the card is all important, wether you're using a £100 Fuji Compact or a £1000 Digital SLR.

The Kingston Class 6 mentioned is much much slower, as is the Play.com card...

Paid £17.99 a week ago, how do you get Amazon to refund the difference, or doesn't that count with the Jersey store?

Why is this? They are both Class 6.
And even if it is how do you know the camera will take advantage of the extra speed?

Thanks

Class 6 just means a minimum of 6MB/s ... this Extreme III card does over 20MB/s !

Because when you're transfering data from the card to your PC, the camera is irrelevent - the faster the card, the less time you'll be waiting ! Card speed is all important

I agree, class 6 guarantees a minimum speed but nothing is stopping the Kingston card delivering higher speeds. I read a review where people where claiming speeds in the 20MB/s range. Have you actually tried one and not been happy with it?

If there is no difference in the camera operation I am not really bothered whether the photos will transfer to the PC a little quicker.

It won't get anywhere near 20MB/s because Kingston have a specific "Ultimate" range of HighSpeed cards offering exactly this :

"Speed Rating*** — 133x: 21MB/sec. read rate, 20MB/sec write rate"

Obviously it depends on your camera - you aren't going to get full-speed burst mode with a slow card, and a high-MP camera will take significantly longer to save it's photos onto a slow card.
If you're happy with a slower card, then buy one ! You pays your money, you makes your choice

Well these people who owned the card claimed they did get those speeds. I received my 450D yesterday and used it with the card very briefly to take continuous shots and there was no delay whatsoever. I took about 20 consecutive 12MP JPEG Fine Quality shots with no delay. I will try RAW as well and transfer rates when I find some time and post back.

I don't mind paying more for something better when I can make use of the difference, but otherwise, in my books, it's a waste of money. In what camera are you using the Sandisk card?

Just bought 4 of these for my Panasonic HDC-SD9.
Now Apple have provided a much needed software fix I am a very happy bunny.
These are a good buy. Thanks:thumbsup:

None - I'm using it as a 4GB HardDrive on an EEE PC
