I've been waiting for this to come back in stock for a while. I actually went to post the deal myself, but it said a duplicate existed, so I wasn't sure on protocol. Either way, nigh on £13 cheaper than Amazon makes it a great deal.

Very Nice find.. Just bought

Don't forget 3% Quidco cashback available.

Anyone who owns one of these, what sort of real-world transfer speeds are you getting? I've purchased a couple of different flash drives labelled as USB 3.0 and transfer speeds are rubbish, even compared to fast USB 2.0 speeds! :(

Not sure but all online reviews says its one if not the fastest out there, i bought the Ultra 64gb which i thought was not great but ok so im hoping this one will live up to the hype.

I do and mine reads at 200MB/s and Writes at 180MB/s. Paid £39 for it not that long ago :( so this is hot.
Still love mine though 'cause it's that fastest in the office and these things count!

I have a couple of SanDisk Cruzer Fit 64GB USB 3.0, more for the size and price than speed. Considered purchasing a SanDisk Ultra Fit 64GB when it was on offer a couple of times at £19.99 delivered but someone posted a comment backed up by a test showing that it was actually slower than the 32GB version! Usually it's the other way round, the smallest sized drives are slower than the larger ones and definitely slower than the largest size.

Those speeds seem too good to pass, think I shall grab myself one of these, only a fiver more than the disappointing Ultra Fit 64GB real-world speeds.

Thanks OP for posting this deal. ;)

Edged. Might be worth editing original post and mentioning 3% cashback available from Quidco and 4.04% from Topcashback? For those that are thinking of ordering.

Just looked at an old order from MyMemory where I paid £19.99 for a 16GB Kingston Data Traveler USB 2.0 flash drive. A fiver more for 64GB of blazing fast USB 3.0 memory...no brainer!

Very impressive speeds. Buying this.

This is the speed i get on mine too, as long as it's a single file, copying too/from an ssd on a usb3 port (obviously).

i love how windows can't calculate the time remaining. come on ffs I'll do it in my head right now... 3 sec for the top and just over 7 for the bottom one... jeez, anyone would think you didn't have a built in calculator or something!

The 'Ultra' is known to be pretty poor performance at the side of what Sandisk claim. This is the 'Extreme' however which is blazingly fast. I got the text from MyMemory this morning saying it was back in stock and ordered immediately. Amazing price and cheapest I can find anywhere. Was going to post by it had already been done :)

Heat added!

A good speed testing tool is h2testw - just google it.
Also, useful for checking full capacity of suspected 'fake' memory cards or USB drives.

Highly recommended

Good price.
It's unfortunate that they no longer show as 'fixed disks', otherwise I would have bought a couple for OS booting.

does anyone know why USB3 pens (at least decent ones) are so long?

I guess that because, instead of using few high density chips, they use more normal chips working in parallel, needing more physical space.

Was just transferring a couple of files (just over 2GB in total) onto a Kingston DTSE9 32GB USB 2.0 drive and all I was getting was a paltry 8.8mb/sec write speed. Can't wait until this SanDisk Extreme arrives. Happy days...

I have this stick sitting next to me right now. It's fantastic, extremely quick and reliable. Shame it's a bit long, bit on the plus side it does make a really satisfying click

Clicky

Fantastic performance, shame not very physically durable.

Ordered, thanks!

if I just need somewhere to store backups of family photos I am guessing I could get a way with a cheaper basic usb stick? Is it just the speed that makes this good?
#38
Hmm so tempting, shame I have no reasonable excuse to buy it tho :(
#39
I bought one of these a short while ago and paid just a bit more at £27.72

Its the fastest usb drive I have
With Crystal Disk Mark I get
Read: 263.8MB/s
Write: 175.6MB/s

As already suggested .. these drives are very fast even on USB2 .. CrystalDiskmark shows 41MB/s read and 38MB/s write.
USB 3 I'm getting 247 read and 170MB/s write.
