write/read speeds????

good price and quidco @ 3.5%

tech spec @ site is misleading as it says pin external Serial ATA. If it was I would buy a dozen

ive got one of these...its not as fast, and it has this annoying flashing orange light that seems to light up the whole roon if your watching a movie in divx off it...lol, also easy to loose the plastic cap, which doesnt stay on...
#9
Ordered - seems like a bargain! (have some heat!)
#10
was going to get this...to be honest i couldnt be arsed with the registration page
#11
does this work with the U3 software?

I have this in 4 and 8gb. Would recommend, seems fast enough for me when transfering HD files.
Will second the orange flashing light being annoying, but its nice to have such a minimal slim drive. Some of the ones I've seen are so bulky.
Only downside for me is, the slicone cover doesn't stay clear for long. For some reason, both of my drives look like they have been stored in someones anus, when they haven't, Although I have lent them out a few times. But I don't think my work colleuges would do that.

25MB/s across the whole drive. I've got one here and just benchmarked it for you :)

Hmmmn... both of my 8Gb ones still look brand new (probably because they are). Don't think I'll be lending them out now though...

I have one of these already. It writes at about 9.8mb/sec

Good buy,

Thanks I got my quidco and it's already validated it at £0.29 so works out at £9.70 delivered.

I got a Cruzer a few weeks ago, now my favourite one of all I have. But the one I got trumps this one because it has a retractable bit that goes into the USB port - no caps needed. As I recall it was £11 from a good seller on ebay and came with U3 too. But is that worth £1.30 extra? Your choice! I like the Cruzer, it looks good and does the business, to me a winning combo.
#18
I have one of these, personally I just totally remove the silicone covers, makes it really small.
#19
I used to have a 2gb one of these and loved it, but did not get it back one time, was afer a 4gb one but this will be nice. I have a cruzer 16gb one and it's slow but do the job.
#20
Been this price for an age. Picked upa coupld from Tesco's months ago. Also, 16GB sticks are better value for money.
#21
got the 4Gb version from morrisons about 3 weeks ago for £5 and its great.
Voted HOT.

They emailed me saying they are sending an Emtec 8GB USB stick as the Sandisk sold out....

Anyone heard of those?
#23
No I've not heard of them, but I've been sent the same email.

So I checked and the first listing for the Emtec is for the company website.

This states that they have data loss issues- WHY THE HELL WOULD I WANT ONE!

I emailed them back to tell them to cancel the order........ cheaky..............

That link refers to the C150, the one they're offering 'as a replacement' seems to be the C250.

I had the same email, not sure what to do.

Trying to find the specs on the SanDisk, the offered Emtec C250 seems slow to me.

Dude - this over 2 years old!

I was told the actual EMTEC item being shipped out is :

http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:bEvo1TrB8hYJ:www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp%3FEdpNo%3D414675+misco+165590&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

Which is the C250.

If it's no good, it's going back.

Had the same email (expired the deal as its no longer on) - the EMTEC logo looks like the old BASF one...

Sent my emtec ones back as they had very bad data loss on them and the plastic is very flimsy.
Look cheap
Hope this helps

Anyone managed to find a review for Emtec C250 yet? Found a few places that are selling it but haven't seen any review so far.
