I don't want to send you all on a wild goose chase but just got myself one of these from my local Sainsburys for £5.74 which I just couldn't refuse. I'll be honest and say there was only 1 left in my shop and there wont be many left elsewhere at this price but just have a look in your local store on your way round.

best quote the barcode, they're just gonna stick it into the computer so it will come up, tell them to check stores around the region too

i imagine this is discontinued as the new stuff went in this week. if they did stock them originally i bet they'd still have some left as they were like £18 - £23 at sainsbury's and can't see many purchasing them at those prices
#15
would be hot if you can find stock which never happens with my local store.
#16
Just been to 3 of my local saisnburys not one had these in at all so must be store pacific.
#17
"store pacific" lol is that the Honolulu branch?
#18
Just been to Union St, Aberdeen and it has got them but at usual price 8gb = £14.99.

sigh. Hot deal for those who get it
#19
Just been in the halifax one.went to where they usually keep the memory cards and they didn't have any in, but noticed they have them next to the cigaret kiosk tucked away, so try thier aswell.
I was tempted to buy them all but I didn't as I didn't think it was fair to any one else so they still have a fair few left at the halifax store (don't forget next to the cigarette kiosk)
Heated added aswell thanks!

Fantastic price for a very good drive, for those lucky enough to find it in their store.
#21
I forgot to mention the ones i got were cruzer micro not the normal cruzer.
Hope that helps.

this is better than the one i got from W H S last week - an HP 4gb for £10, and that was half price!
#23
Glad some other people have got them and sorry for those who haven't but like i said, some of these things are like wild goose chases.

I believe it was a quarter price reduction in store so you're right. Too many people knocking your comment about price but not understanding that you probably meant original price in store.

Ouch - that's expensive. I'd never pay more than about £1.20 per gb for a flash drive.

just visited colchester avenue in cardiff, they were in a glass locker and marked up at a tenner, i got the lady to take one out and scan it, she was amazed when it came up at 5.74

i purchased 2 of them

there was roughly 8 left

That makes it all of a sudden very interesting, doesn't it ?

True mate, some people don't find it in their store and spoil it for others... but why spam it?

Managed to get one my my local store this evening. There were none on the shelves - only the 4 gig & 2 gig were left, which were far more expensive than the 8 gig one.

Asked the department staff, and the guy managed to find one at the back. And, it scanned at £5.74, Yipee.

And, these are the U3 drives, which is 'icing on the cake' for me:

I too picked the last one from Farnborough. I tried Camberley at the weekend but they had none left. So I was chuffed to find one so late in the day.

As for U3. I tried it last night and removed it. After using Portable Apps for a few years I can say U3 is dead!. It is being replaced by StartKey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StartKey

Anyone using U3 should try portable apps http://portableapps.com/
