just had mine delvered , only ordered a couple of days back, surprised as it normally takes about 5-7 days. As for the card , pairs very nicely with my nikon d700 on a battery grip

I got SanDisk CompactFlash 4GB Extreme III Memory on my Sony Alpha. The question is: Do I need this one?

Which Sony Alpha?
And, no you do not need one that is that fast.

Hot price without a doubt, but you'd have to take a lot of photos to fill this. We have an (albeit aging) Eos 400d, and just returned from holiday having taken 800+ shots on a 4gb card, and it was not even close to being full.

As I say, very good price - but I'd rather have 2 x 4gb if I use that sort of capacity, just in case one goes bad.....

agree 4gb takes alot of photo.. BUT if you shoot RAW+JPEG or HD Video on ur DSLR.. 8gb is really small.

You should also bear in mind, that many cameras will not be able to make use of the 60mb/s transfer speed, and the only time you'll see the benefit is when you're downloading the images from the card to your computer. Otherwise go with a 30mb/s variety, which are to be had for £18-20.

8GB doesnt cut it these days with a 7D for instance. Big wake up call that was, lol

hot, thanks. this is definetly worth a punt.

I was about to purchase an 8GB Sandisk Extreme (60 mb/s) Compact Flash Card untill I read this review/test data:

http://sportsphotoguy.com/extreme-disparity/

I also shoot with a D300 so those results are of concern.

Doesn't score well here either:

Seems a bargain when you see the RRP of this one:

@cutlaroc
is this better?

I also have a d300
robgilbraith shows it as scoring highly (branded dane-elec)
