You're always a week too late dumfyboy!!! :whistling:

Make sure they are kosher by putting em into a PSP via adapter and making sure "Magic Gate" says "Supported". Too many fake MMCs these days not to know the difference.

And I heard you always come early Tom :-D

Not gonna vote either way on these but just dont risk it; you have no proof that these arent fakes. I put fake memsticks in my PSP and eventually they all burned out, I mean they literally got so hot I couldnt hold them. Amazed it didnt damage it, and not worth it IMHO, Buy from a reputable retailer.

Is it possible to check if these are genuine, and return as "not fit for purpose" if not originals?

Definitely if you bought one online as you can return under distance selling regulations.
Also if they are fake then you should be able to return under the sale of goods act.
#24
Just checked mine and it states magic gate is supported so the one I got is genuine sandisk. I would've thought most of these are as I think they are mainly from people selling the memory stick that came with their sony ericsson phone that they don't need. I mean no fake seller is gonna make a profit selling these to CEX for £4 each.

It most likely isn't genuine sandisk.

Just bought a £10 PNY 8gb.
Still, I do prefer PNY mem cards, but good deal.

I agree.
The most ripped off name by forgers.
Worth paying the little extra at Play for a PNY 8gb

The differences are actually pretty subtle, I think usually you can only tell by the packaging (these likely wont come packaged) or taking the casing apart as explained in this guide (yeah, I know its not the same card type but you get the picture regarding how good the forgeries are):

http://www.videogames.net.au/how-to-spot-a-fake-sony-memory-stick/

Best thing is to buy any card from any manufacturer but not from somewhere like a market or eBay. You just cant tell for sure its genuine unless its from soemwhere like PC World IMHO.

Yeah, but when my two went wrong they both nearly melted inside my PSP - Cex wont sort that for you I can promise.

I bought 2 M2 cards from my local CEX. The first one they sold me had bad sectors and so did the one they replaced it with. Make sure they are not previously owned.

:) They sell preowned stuff, its only when a customer brings something in brand new and sells it to them, you are likely to get something brand new.

I have got one from my local cex store in ipswich - used one but for £8 it is definitely cheapest and they have come with 12 months warranty.

Received 2 Tuesday, 1 Wednesday, 1 today.

3 Sandisk and 1 Sony.

Anyone else received theirs?
#38
Ordered two seperately, received one 8GB Sony, the other received today was a 2GB Sandisk...seeing annoyingly CEX do not have phone numbers I have had to raise a Paypal dispute over this one as its "significantly not as described"...most annoyed.
#39
You wanna buy DVD? :whistling:

Back in stock online, only 4 left though :)
