Definatly!

I got the usual email from them which reminded me to get another 6gb card for my mother in law, no 6gb ones in stock but this one was almost the same price!

Doh, i just went to let thesaint know as he has a thread dedicated to these and it seems someone beat me to it, though didnt make the deal post to tell the masses, but as they noticed earlier, please do not rep me for the find, fact is, everyone else would have got the email at the same time anyway..

Feel free to add heat though, as it's a good deal!

There's also the 4% quidco option - so you can possibly get another 84p off that price

That might be more useful than it seems. My SanDisk 4Gb card came with an SD adapter but it doesn't work in 2 PC's media readers and my external USB card reader. I assume the reason is that these devices can't read HC cards. The only way I could read the card is was with a USB reader that came with some other hardware.

It seems to be worth a few pennies too... (though not sure which one you will get)

Here is the cheapest way http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/181676/price-drop-2-dstt-rom-card-for-nint/

Having tried the AceKard 2 I think I prefer that (if only because the games are listed in alphabetical order - which if you have 200 games on will be useful). Maybe there is a way on the DSTT card but it was not obvious.

Anyway - back to the 8Gb card. Definitely a new price point. Just as I was about to buy a class 4 4Gb for £11.99 (which was the cheapest one I could find - and that was unbranded). With the card reader that comes with it it makes the price unbelievable.

#15

You can put a program on the DSTT that sorts in alphabetical order.
I don't like how the AceKard doesn't go straight onto the flash cart when switched on, but each to their own. :)

A 4GB Sandisk SDHC is £10.98 from dvd.co.uk, 8GB for a DS cart is overkill in my opinion.

Not at all, if you say the average game is 128Mb, you can fit over 70 games on it! or even movies and Mp3 on there too ;-)

Superb for holidays and long distance commuters ;-)

The average game isn't 128mb though. Most games are 16 - 64 mb.

If you need 8GB, then this is the deal for you. My son has a 4GB and he has about 70 games, and a load of MP3's. I don't know anyone that watches movies on a DS personally.

For the average user 1GB is okay, 2GB is enough, 4GB is plenty with some in reserve, 8GB is overkill.

I recently got one for £25 delivered and it's in my N95 works perfectly, my N95 has V21 firmware, not sure if the firmware version makes a difference, but it's easily upgradeable anyway.

This sudden price reduction must herald the arrival of the 12GB version which has been available only for pre-order for a month or so.

My son puts films (what's a movie?) on his DS, it's a lot lighter than toting a dvd player around, not to mention a pile of discs. The quality surprised me - like watching a DVD to me. I'd definitely go for one of these in my DSTT (if I hadn't bought 2 4Gb cards for £30 about a month ago).
#28
Ordered one for my daughter's Nintendo DS, heat and rep added - thanks very much.

This will be great for TTDS, overkill or not.

I have the said 4Gb sandisk card... but a) it is class 2 not class 4 and b) it doesn't have a USB reader... and I am having problems with the standard SD adapter the 4Gb comes with . The £11.99 one I mentioned at was the cheapest class 4 I could find.

I know you have said that class 2 v 4 doesn't make any difference on a DS but I have read elsewhere that it does (on an AceKard forum somewhere). I have one game that refuses to load so I will try it out on the class 4 (need to borrow a DSTT to find out whether it works on there). Worst comes to the worst it will copy stuff on from the PC quicker than the 4Gb and I have a reader that works (hopefully).

I had a suspicion about why this card would have dropped in price and it proved to be true. They are now selling[ the brand new 16GB Micro SDHC card which had previously been on pre-order. It was officially due to go on sale early June.

You don't even want to know how much the new one is going for... trust me. :whistling:

You should try trimming the ROMs as this can save loads of space.

Another thing to remember is that many DS Roms can be trimmed using something like R4 Commander. This decreases the size of the ROM without affecting play. By trimming the roms, you can normally fit around 60 games onto a 2gb card.

Thanks for this, one bought and heat added

Does this definately come with a adaptor to change it to SDHC? I see it comes with a card reader, but can't see anything about an adaptor - even though someone does mention it above....
Thanks

If you look at the photos below the main one in the link you can see it comes with Micro SD to SD adapter. Also the card reader is identified too and is indeed one that is selling for £8.95 at CarPhoneWarehouse.

£6.95 here..
http://www.bargainmemorycards.co.uk/product/sandisk-mobilemate-micro-reader

EDIT : It doesn't actually say it has an Micro SD to SD adapter..but it has the photo of it in the blurb and SanDisk usually do have an adapter with them... so chances are good it will. Note that the device you stick the adapter into has to be able to recognise HC micro SD cards though. None of my equipment does - which is why I want the MobileMate adapter.

Ok....great deal.

My question is - can you get an adapter for this to work in the PSP. I bought a card the other day which i could modify as such. Can this be done? and will the PSP be compatible with SDHC?

Thanks in advance guys.

Will also be great for a PSP with the adapters going for £5 on ebay
