Description

The Micro SD is the smallest flash memory technology card in the world. About one-fourth the size of a standard SD card, the micro SD card provides high performance and expanded memory capacity for mobile phones.

Dont forget a minimum 4% QUIDCO making it 47.99 !! (might be 6%).

It's not only for N95

It's not only for N95

correct but most people buy it for that.
#4
I pre-ordered this last week for my N95
Quidco has tracked at £2.20 (on £54.99) ... ie. 4%
I used the £5 voucher too
Making it a final total of £47.79

Hope they stick to their 12th Dec release date
#5
Excellent - so thats a definite 4%. Thanks for confirming that for us !!

A cheaper alternative would be to buy two of the 4gb MicroSD cards from MyMemory, which are £17.99 each (plus £3.95 P+P). But obviously you lose the convenience of having all 8gb in one card, without needing to swap them around

Here's the link for the cheap 4gb Sandisk card:

you could go on like that with 2gb, 1gb and 512mb ... getting cheaper all the way. But with 8GB theres a massive convinience of storing large files and no swapping.

So I wouldnt really call it an "alternative"

...or their DS. :)

don't waste your time if in no great rush - you just know this will be < £35 within a month...

"you could go on like that with 2gb, 1gb and 512mb ... getting cheaper all the way."

not really 2gb =£10.29 +p&p, which is more than half the price of the 4gb one listed.

still 8gb in one is quite tempting...
#11
Or you could just but it for £47 delivered from sandiskshop

#12
LowTrawler: Interesting. Never heard of sandiskshop before. Does anyone know if its safe to use ??
#13
Could get it for use with my DS.

Tempting.

Might just stick to 4gb though.

can you get 4gb normal ones ?
#15
Voted hot! Going off at a slight tangent... does anyone know what the cheapest class 6 8GB SD (Not micro) memory card is?
#16
This thread could not have come at a better time! I've just bought the as yet unreleased N82 and this will really help bolster the power of my new mini-marvel.

Thank you very much for the headsup! :w00t:

No, 2gb is the largest
#18
Two things... it's coming up as £54.99 through that link and there's no mention of 'HC' compliancy anywhere on the page...
#19
I'm going to get one for the soon to be released Nokia N810. But I remember the specifications state that if the external storage is >2gb it has to be SDHC.

So what's SDHC? Thanks!
#20
Perfect for the M3 DS Real/CycloDS :)

Not so, you can get 4gb NON SDHC cards, although compatibility issues mean it probably won't work anyway.

you need to use the £5 off Play.com voucher linked in the 1st post
#24
Play.com have reduced the price on their 4gb MicroSD(HC?) cards from £24.99 (the price last week) to just £17.99 inc free delivery!
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/-/544/702/-/3359487/Sandisk-Micro-SDHC-4GB-Card/Product.html?searchtype=genre

You could buy 3 of these 4gb cards (and use the £5 off voucher + quidco) to get 12gb for less than £50 :)

Personally I've gone for the single 8gb card as I don't want to keep swapping cards
#25
hi

thanks for this just ordered as 6sdhc and a 4sdhc to use with our ds reals.

Doesnt the data on these things get very easily corrupted? I have heard no end of stories from people about their big memory sticks (USB/Cards) and when they fill them up and move them the data is corrupted just a few mins later?
#27
No but they have limited write/read cycles.
I think it's 100,000 writes on average

A quick note to owners of the R4 or M3 Simply who might not know - this card will NOT work with these devices. You need something like the M3 Real or CycloDS Evolution to use an SDHC card.
Miserable kids plus fruitless hours slaving over a computer don't make for a happy xmas....
#29
Do we know what Classs these are, as they can range from 2, 4 or 6 I believe?

#32
I've got a 6GB in my Tytn II at the mo. Works perfectly well (but does need formatting first). I believe 8GB will work fine too.
#33
Oh Balls.

I need to spend £50 to get the £5 off?

The two cards I want come to £49.98.
